Dying Light 2 New Game Plus Update Out Now, Patch Notes Detailed
Techland revealed patch notes for Dying Light 2’s New Game Plus Mode Patch. It brings many changes to the game that go beyond the mode.
Revealed earlier this week, the new patch is now live in Dying Light 2 and New Game Plus should be available to any and all players who have completed the base campaign of the zombie parkour title. What can you expect from this mode? There will be new obstacles to discover, Platinum objectives for parkour challenges and much more.
“After finishing it once, the game can be replayed again, only this time with modified game parameters in place to encourage a second playthrough by the implementation of a unique system and experience,” the patch notes read. “The player can now go through the story with revitalized mechanisms. These include new enemy behaviors, more difficult encounters, new objects within the world – namely the newly-added inhibitors – and many more changes that will significantly alter gameplay style and allow the player to developer their character further.”
These features are only available in New Game Plus:
- 30 brand new inhibitors
- For parkour challenges, there are new platinum objectives
- Actual distribution of enemies (i.e. The night is when Volatiles, Banshees, and Banshees are spawned. This allows for a greater number of encounters with enemies.
- New legendary weapon tier
- Add gold encounters
- The difficulty of enemies scales with player level
As for the rest of the patch, it comes with a lot of co-op updates and fixes, as well as a new Mutated Infected enemy type that can be encountered by starting the “Something Big Has Been Here” quest in-game. There are a lot of other updates, fixes, and improvements to Dying Light 2’s gameplay, quests, UI, and more, too.

News from the Co-op
- Co-op has stability and fixed connection issues
- Connection issues fixed for players further along in the story

- After a session with co-op, an issue caused a block in single player mode’s progression
- Few remaining death loops were fixed in co-op
- In a co-op session, fixed an issue with the Missing People quest NPC

- Increased visualization of weapons in the online inventory and menu

- While players remain in the bandit camps, fixed random bandit respawns
- Problems with inventory and map access being unavailable to the player after dying in co-op
- Corrected blocked story progression using “enemies close” notification
- Rare issue where players can’t move when revived
- The host respawns fixes to far-away peer and respawning in geometry
- AI jitter fixed in random cases
- Improvements to various animations of co-op Crouching, throwing and using the bow are some of the new animations in co-op
- In co-op, fixed sound duplication
- Fix rare instances of non-responsive quest radio dialog in coop, which can cause story blocks
- Corrected incorrect icons displayed on the map following a coop party
- Fixed “call for help” when the player is being summoned during a gather in co-op
- In certain cases, fixed black screens could be used to prevent progression from occurring during co-op.
- Fixed unnecessary “skill requirement” text-glitch in the description of a challenge in a co-op session
- During the co-op sessions, the tutorial window time was increased to 30 seconds
- A bug was fixed that enabled players to be active on multiple story quests

Gaming Updates
- Enemies with bows are less annoying — decreased damage output
- When achievements have been completed, they are properly awarded. It also works for achievements achieved before the update.

- Corrected the disappearance Hakon’s quest Into The Darkness after being in co-op
- Fixed Sophie’s inaccessible position in The Raid quest

- Added FOV slider to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X
- Optimized UI textures
- Switching between controller and keyboard has been fixed
- Pop-up message from Markers of Plague containing a fixed inhibitor

- Aiden must no longer be T-posing in the main menu
- Fixes for crashes caused by launching the game at 5760×1080 resolution
- Incorrect numbers displayed on Immunity Bar fixed
