Disney And Tencent Announce A Mobile Avatar MMO Is In The Works

Ubisoft isn’t the only publisher that has the Avatar franchise in its sights. Disney and Tencent revealed plans to launch Avatar: Reckoning on iOS and Android. Archosaur Games handles development duties for Reckoning.

Here are some details from the announcement press release. “Avatar: Reckoning will transport players to never-before-seen parts of Pandora where they will meet new Na’vi clans fighting to defend their home, battle powerful RDA troops seeking to exploit the resources of the moon, and encounter spectacular alien creatures.” Players will be able to take on challenges solo, co-op, or in “dynamic multiplayer matches.” Throughout the story mode, you’ll be able to level up your Na’vi and arm it with weapons.

Avatar Reckoning is in development on Unreal Engine 4; it is expected to launch sometime later this year.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment’s other adventure set on James Cameron’s Pandora.
