Disney And Marvel Games Showcase Announced, Will Feature Sneak Peek At Amy Hennig’s Ensemble Game

Disney announced that it will hold a Disney & Marvel Games Showcase next month, live from its D23 Expo. 

The showcase will take place at noon PT/4 pm ET. ET Friday September 9th, and hosted by Kinda Funny’s Blessing Adeoye Jr. It is set to feature “incredible new content” from Disney & Pixar Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, and 20th Century Games. These titles include Disney Dreamlight Valley (Marvel’s Midnight Suns), Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga and even “sneak previews” of the Skydance New Media ensemble game. 

Skydance New Media is the place where Amy Hennig, former director of Uncharted 2, works. These two dots are connected and the first peek at Hennig’s forthcoming ensemble game by Skydance New Media represents a sneak peek of Hennig’s new game. Hennig revealed the game as a narrative-driven action-adventure title last year. 

It could also be any of the many Marvel families or squads, as it is an ensemble game. It’s likely that it will not be the Avengers, as Crystal Dynamic’s Avengers has only been two years old. However, there are still updates. It won’t even be the Midnight Suns. This is because Firaxis, an XCOM developer, is working on that. Although I hope Hennig’s game will be based on the X-Men’s universe, because it is an ensemble game it could also include the Inhumans or the Fantastic Four. It will take time to see, but there is less than a month before we can watch the Disney/Marvel Games Showcase on September 9.
