As with all other Strongholds in the game, these zones have their own unique stories, missions, and bosses.

After finishing any of these Strongholds, you’ll gain a new public space, which — depending on the Stronghold — can include things like vendors, Waypoints, and side quests. The Kehjistan strongholds all guard the Altar of Lilith which is why clearing them out makes it even more appealing.

What is a Stronghold in Diablo 4?

In Sanctuary, Strongholds represent points of interest which have been taken over by the evil. You will find each Stronghold in a different location, with its own storyline, objectives, puzzles and bosses. At first, they are enemy infested areas that you and your team must clean up. After you have completed the mission and eliminated the bad, you will be able to view other players.

When you conquer a Stronghold, you’ll gain experience, rewards, and Renown, which can be used to unlock additional rewards such as skill points and health potion charges. Once completed, the Strongholds can become towns complete with NPCs. Although not all Strongholds will turn into towns, clearing them may unlock shortcuts, side quest hubs, dungeons and more.

Strongholds are intentionally a few level above your character’s current level. So, be sure to bring high-quality equipment.

Alcarnus

Alcarnus can be found The Jirandai Waypoint is located to the south in Kehjistan.

1. Find the boss arena by exploring the depths Alcarnus.
2. Rashta the Necromancer can be defeated by speaking to him and defeating him.
3. Listen to/read the Research Notes.
4. Dispose of all three Necrotic Masses within the Stronghold.
5. Return to The Lair Of The Witch
6. The Kill Rashta Reborn.
7. Light the Wanderer’s Shrine, which is indicated by a diamond on your map and will finish off the Stronghold.

Altar of Ruin

North of Altar of Ruin Stronghold, you will find the Altar of Ruin Stronghold. Iron Wolf Encampment Waypoint in Kehjistan.

1. Discover the cave.
2. By killing Elite Priests, you can collect the Ritual Chamber Keystone.
3. Install all three Keystones on the front door.
4. Kill Dark Cardinal Maldul
5. Light the Wanderer’s Shrine, which is indicated by a diamond on your map and will finish off the Stronghold.

Omath’s Redoubt

Omath’s Redoubt is Denshar, southwest of DensharThis is the Field of Hatred, in Kehjistan.

1. Investigate the dead bodies in the four corners of Omath’s Redoubt.
2. Examine the Ceremonial Staff
3. Kill High Priestess Hadar’s ghost.
4. Light the Wanderer’s Shrine, which is indicated by a diamond on your map and will finish off the Stronghold.
