Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Dungeons Will Require Digital Deluxe Edition Or Separate Purchase

With the forthcoming expansion The Witch Queen, Dungeons of Destiny 2 will be delivered using a new delivery method. And by different, I mean they’ll come at an additional cost to the player from the price of the expansion or seasonal content. That’s right. Dungeons now come as a premium upgrade to the existing standard edition. The Deluxe Edition will include the extra cooperative multiplayer content.

Bungie’s lead community manager Chris Shannon took to Reddit to confirm the details of the change of access to Dungeon content:

He is concise and clear in his explanation. Anyone who buys the Destiny 2 The Witch Queen Deluxe Edition for $79.99 can access Dungeons. This Deluxe Edition includes the base expansion, access to the four planned Seasons for the upcoming year, and the two Dungeons in question. The Seasons can be purchased separately to the base expansion, however Dungeons access will still be available if you pay another way to purchase these multiplayer missions. The Deluxe Edition will allow players to purchase an upgrade at any time.

The content of Dungeons is designed for three players. It falls between Strikes or Raids when it comes to length and complexity. Destiny 2 currently has three Dungeons. The Shattered Throne was the first, followed by Prophecy. This expansion launched prior to Beyond Light. Each was accessible to all players or included in a Season Pass, so breaking Dungeons out further beyond the other paid content will be a significant change unless you’re already buying into the Deluxe package. Then, you won’t have to worry about it at all.

Which Dungeons changes will affect you the most? Is it worth buying the Deluxe bundle, or just waiting to see the changes in the purchasing system? Guardians!
