D&D’s Keys from the Golden Vault anthology will send you on heists

Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast have quietly revealed the first details of a new anthology for Dungeons & Dragons. Next adventure book will be called The Golden Vault KeysThe anthology will take players on an intricate series of heists. On February 21, the books will be available for purchase at retail.

On a website intended to serve independent retailers, Wizards describes the anthology as 13 “short, standalone” D&D adventures designed for characters levels one through 11. A Dungeon Master has the option to run every adventure in one shot or connect them together for a longer campagin. These adventures can be held in any place. Maps will be included to assist players in planning heists and advice on running non-traditional campaigns.

The adventures will join a growing number of D&D anthologies like Candlekeep MysteriesAnd Journeys through the Radiant CitadelBoth books have received glowing feedback.

This new anthology was released by Wizards of the Coast with very little publicity. This could possibly be due to the recent controversy sparked by a leak of a draft licensing agreement that sought to change the terms on which D&D content can be created. While Hasbro has now retracted the proposed licensing agreement, it remains at the center of anger from fans. It’s also not the only high-profile stumble for Wizards’ owner Hasbro, which Wall Street recently criticized for allegedly over-printing The Gathering is Magic cards — something that the Rhode Island-based game and toy company denies.
