Dbrand ROG Ally Killswitch case: how to pre-order

Despite an array of accessories that are available for the Asus ROG Ally portable PC, the desire for a case more durable and better designed is strong. Dbrand, accessory lords of ROG Ally cases and accessories, has a brand new Killswitch version for ROG. Pre-orders are currently being accepted for an upcoming launch in 2024.

In case this sounds familiar, the Killswitch case for the ROG Ally bears the same name as well as a striking resemblance to the protective case Dbrand made for Valve’s Steam Deck handheld. The pricing for the ROG Ally’s Killswitch is the same, too. By putting down $3 right away, you can reserve your unit and gain access before anyone else. Basic package for $59.95 includes the Killswitch Case and the skin of your choosing, and the $74.95 bundle also adds the Travel Cover and Stick Grip.

Fans of ROG Ally have been asking for this case for a good reason. It is constructed of a flexible, but tough plastic. This allows the case to be fitted snugly onto both the side grips and the back of the handheld. It has a built-in kickstand at the back, which is attached to the case. Unlike the Steam Deck version, however, it cannot be detached.

Dbrand claims it has worked closely with the ROG Ally design team to ensure that its case doesn’t obstruct airflow, or get in the way of connectivity with the Asus XG Mobile eGPU used to deliver enhanced performance to the console. This case is designed with a large mesh opening on the rear for ventilation and generous margins all around the ports.

Dbrand offers a variety of accessories, including tempered-glass screen protectors and stick grips. For those with heightened aesthetics and a preference for color, Dbrand also provides patterned adhesive skins that can be applied to the chassis to add contrasting colors. After the initial release, stick grips and travel covers, as well as skins for the front of handhelds can be purchased separately.
