Dark Web: X-Men is a Marvel Easter egg romp, and a instant classic

The holiday season is a challenging time for superheroes. It’s a time when they can unwind and enjoy each other’s company under more positive circumstances than usual, but they are still superheroes, so their downtime is inevitably interrupted by villains who force them to fight. The Marvel Universe is having a particularly difficult holiday this year, with the evil super-clones Ben Reilly and Madelyne Paryor unleashing the demon hordes known as Limbo upon New York City. Dark Web crossover.

Dark Web is essentially a sequel to 1989’s Inferno event, and it’s delivering all of the chaotic fun that the previous crossover did so well. After last week’s opening salvo, Wednesday’s Dark Web: X-Men#1 is written by Gerry Duggan, and Rod Reis the artist. This issue unites Spider-Man and the X-Men to defeat the demon-possessed inanimate objects who are hungry for human flesh. It’s a delightfully wild issue, with four moments that catapult it to superhero holiday excellence.

1. Rockefeller Center’s Christmas tree comes to life when a demon climbs on top of it

Inferno explored the great elements of superhero fiction with the story of abducted children feeding an evil invasion from another dimension. The story also featured a cloned girl who joined them, after becoming insane and changing into a very small costume. Daredevil was able to fight a vacuum as an illustration of extremes. You can also read: Dark Web: X-Men, a demon’s bowel movement forces the heroes to take down the most famous Christmas tree in New York City. Inferno is also weird. Dark Web A lighter tone is evident; although people are being attacked with electric scooters or construction equipment, it’s still a happy atmosphere.

2. Spider-Man reunites With His Amazing Friends

People are more connected during the holidays. Dark Web: X-MenFeatures the spontaneous gathering of three major characters Spider-Man and his Amazing FriendsThe NBC animated cartoon, which ran from 1982 to 1983. A reunion was inevitable with the additions of Iceman, Firestar and Firestar to this year’s X-Men team. The trio get an action-packed sequence in which they combine their power sets to eliminate the demonic Christmas tree. The mutants also get themselves a taste of that classic Peter Parker bad luck, receiving boos from the crowd after they stop the tree by melting it and trapping it inside a giant ice block that won’t melt until March of next year.

3. The Ultimate Himbo Superhero Costume is back

Alex “Havok” Summers’ position as the X-Men’s No. His history as the No. 1 himbo is well-documented, with Inferno being an integral part. In that story, Havok’s longtime girlfriend was possessed by an evil mutant at the time, and always living in his brother Scott’s shadow, he quickly fell for Madelyne after Scott broke up with her. This is unfortunately the exact time Madelyne takes on the title of Goblin Queen. Although Alex is able to see her dark side, she remains loyal. That devotion is physically represented by the outfit Madelyne puts Alex in when she names him her Goblin Prince, tearing up his costume so that he’s only wearing a tattered crop top, loincloth, and thigh-high boots.

Alex is a great example of how to be sexually explicit. Dark Web: X-MenHe is then thrown back in the Goblin Prince outfit after being knocked out and rescued by Limbo Sleep-demons. They also boast a unique design, with pillows and blankets as their caps and collars.

4. White Elephant: The X-Men are White Elephant

A text list of the X-Men’s White Elephants gifts: Jean Grey got a limited-edition single-cask whiskey from Japan from Synch; Synch got an art piece made of carbon and diamonds from Firestar; Havok got a year-round “Coffees of the World” gift; Forge took home a knock-off hoodie with Iceman’s handsome face on it; Firestar got a living clock made of flowers; Magik got a bit of asteroid from Jean Grey; Iceman got the mummified heart of a rhyming demon. Cyclops got a BAND OF BROTHERS 4K set.

The X-Men are no strangers to games, but they’re usually playing sports like baseball or basketball. This year, they’re getting festive by playing White Elephant, the holiday game where people randomly select a gift and get the opportunity to steal gifts from others. The issue ends with a humorous note. It also uses the data pages from X-books that are exploding these days. This activity fosters camaraderie between new team members, while the gifts tell a lot more about their recipients.

What’s the highlight? The highlight? Cyclops getting his own gift, a Band of BrothersTom Hanks signed a 4K Blu-ray Set. He’s such a dad.
