CD Projekt Red Announces New Cyberpunk Game, Multiple Witcher Games, And New IP

CD Projekt Red has opened the doors to its game development pipeline and revealed a brand-new Cyberpunk, several new Witcher games, as well as a new IP. 

The studio announced this news today during its investor call. Orion was the codename of its next Cyberpunk title. There was not much more, however. CDPR says Orion“will continue taking the Cyberpunk franchise to the next level and harness the potential of this dark futur universe.” 

The Witcher was next. CDPR announced that it is currently developing the codename Witcher 2, which was first revealed in January. Polaris. According to the studio, “it’s the beginning of an exciting new story” and plans to publish two more Witcher titles after Polaris. This will create a new AAA RPG Witcher Trilogy. 

CDPR then announced the existence of a second “full-fledged Witcher” game, codenamed (presumably). Canis Majoris. The announcement states that it will be developed in an external studio by experienced developers who previously worked with CDPR’s Witcher game series. 

Since we knew for some time that The Molasses Flood was working on a game set in the Witcher universe, today’s investor conference confirmed this. CDPR released some additional details about the project. 

Sirius is the codename of the game created by [The Molasses Flood]”This is a set in The Witcher universe, and was created with support of CDPR,” the tweet states. This production will offer multiplayer gameplay in addition to a single-player experience that includes a campaign and quests. It is a departure from past productions. 

CDPR has revealed Hadar, an “entirely unique IP”, to conclude today’s “new game” announcement. According to CDPR, this project is still in its early stages. This means that it has not yet started developing the game. CDPR “works exclusively on the foundation of this new environment” at present. 

These are the games and other projects that CDPR has announced today. You can clearly see that the studio is busy.
