CD Projekt acquires The Molasses Flood, makers of Drake Hollow
CD Projekt acquired The Molasses Flood, a Boston studio. This studio is responsible for survival games such as Drake Hollow will work on its own “ambitious” project in cooperation with CD Projekt Red, using an IP owned by CD Projekt. Friday’s press release by the two companies revealed that they had acquired each other.
“We’re always on the lookout for teams who make games with heart,” said Adam Kiciński, the president and joint CEO of CD Projekt. “The Molasses Flood share our passion for video game development, they’re experienced, quality-oriented, and have great technological insight. I’m convinced they will bring a lot of talent and determination to the Group.”
The Molasses Flood was founded by Bioshock and Halo developers in 2014. It has published survival and base building games since then. The Flood’s Flame Drake Hollow
CD Projekt Red is behind the popular franchises and games like The Witcher, and Cyberpunk 2077This is. According to the release, although The Molasses Flood will be “working in close cooperation” with CD Projekt Red, the studio “will keep their current identity and will not be merged with existing teams.” Fans can expect to learn more details about the upcoming project sometime in the future.
