Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Composer Departs Over ‘Increasingly Challenging’ Dynamic With Audio Director

The composer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Sarah Schachner, has revealed that she has parted ways with the game and the free-to-play battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone (and likely the upcoming Warzone 2). She explains that the relationship with the audio director of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has been difficult, and she doesn’t see a way forward. Variety Schachner didn’t identify the individual in her announcement, but reports indicate that Stephen Miller is the Audio Director in question.

News of her departure comes from a statement released by Schachner on Twitter on November 3, as reported by Video Games Chronicle. Schachner has resigned after many years of working with Modern Warfare II studio Infinity Ward to create games such as 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or 2016’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The other credits are Anthem and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, according to VGC

“I am sad to say I can no longer continue to compose music for MWII/Warzone,” her statement reads. The working relationship with the audio director has been more difficult over the last few months and I do not see any way forward. At this point, the fate and release plans for the soundtrack are unknown. While the final presentation of the music in-game is up to me, I do not have control over its content. However, the release date for the soundtrack will reflect my artistic intentions regarding mixing and mastering.

After thanking fans, she gives a shout-out to Mike Dean and mixer Frank Wolf. She also thanks Mike Dean for his creative vision and other performers, such as Baseck and Brain Mantia. Gordy.

Here is the full statement.
