Baldur’s Gate 3 Gets Lucius Malfoy Actor As A Bad Guy
Larian Studios clearly wanted another easily detestable bad guy for Baldur’s Gate 3, so it turned to Harry Potter’s Lucius Malfoy to play one of the game’s newly revealed antagonists.
Jason Isaacs is the actor who played Draco Malfoy’s rival in Harry Potter. Isaacs will take the role of Lord Enver Gortash, designer of the Steel Watchers, magical warriors tasked with protecting Baldur’s Gate after Duke Ravengard vanishes. The players will find themselves in a battle with the powerful enforcer, as they are caught up in a city-wide power struggle. The trailer shows his first appearance.
“It was a thrill to join the Baldur’s Gate universe but I fear that the magnificent Lord Enver Gortash is being mischaracterized as a villain,” says Isaacs in a press release. “In a brutal world of betrayals and butchery, he’s learned to lie better and backstab first. “Apart from getting to be so beautiful, the joy of voicing him was the fact that I and my creative team were able to let loose and find new ways for him to enjoy the ride while making the players even more hateful.”
Isaac isn’t the only famous name players will encounter. J.K. Simmons, Spider-Man J. Jonah Jameson and Portal 2 Cave Johnson, was revealed to be General Ketheric.
Baldur’s Gate 3 launches on August 31 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
