Apex Legends Season 12 Preview – Method To The Madness

Although Control can be exhilarating, it’s not the main reason you are here. The highly anticipated Maori freedom fighter, Maggie, was revealed for the first time in Fuse’s Season 8 origin trailer. Maggie is seen as a villain, by Apex fighters, but her devotion to Salvo and her mission of liberating her planet has influenced her extreme extremism. Maggie is not a team player, and this can be seen in her abilities kit.

Maggie’s passive “Warlords Ire” lets her draw attention to the enemies she has hurt. Maggie may also carry a shotgun without a speed penalty. This should enable her to quickly chase after her prey and take them out. The tactical “Riot Drill” fires up a fierce breaching charge at any surface she chooses. Players camping, healing, or otherwise on the same side as those objects will take immediate burst damages and, if not moved in time, they’ll likely go to pieces. Finally, Maggie’s ultimate, “Wrecking Ball,” casts – you guessed it! – a massive wrecking ball at enemies that bounces off any obstruction in its path. Maggie’s team receives a terrifying speed boost when they are near the ball. Any enemies that come in contact with the ball will have to be careful.

Maggie’s unique abilities of forcing teams from their positions was something I really enjoyed. Although her built-in scanner isn’t as effective as Crypto’s surveillance drone and Bloodhound’s tracker respectively, Maggie’s passive speed makes her an excellent scout for aggressive squadrons. Although I am concerned that Maggie’s speed boosters may make close-quarter matches unfair, I recommend facing Maggie in open areas. Her team might need to escape from focus fire. Maggie will be selected in every tier of play, which is my expectation from a competitive perspective. Duelists who can win 1v1s easily will have the greatest value when it comes to their legend selection.
