Apex Legends: Ignite Launches October 31 and Features New Legend – Conduit, an Overhauled Storm Point, Cross Progression, and Much More
You can read more about it here:
- Conduit, the new Legend class support character is a versatile and offensively-tactical Legend who can use her shield healing/disrupting ability to play both defensively and offensively.
- Storm Point’s size has been drastically reduced, leading to a more intense battle and new points of interest.
- Cross-Progression: All cosmetics, achievements, and badges collected on all platforms are automatically unified in a single Account.
Storm Point’s tropical islands, mountains and other features have been devastated by a massive storm. It has left a trail of destruction behind it. The landscape is littered with ruins of previous points of interest. Once a canvas filled with gloomy clouds, the sky above is now full of vibrant rainbows. Hope is restored! Storm Point is still standing strong. Exciting new locations are now available, and an exciting Legend has entered the battle to gain fame and glory. Ignite will be the exciting new Apex Legends season releasing on Oct. 31.
The opportunity to attend an event was a great experience. Apex Legends: Ignite On October 31, you can see for yourself some of the most exciting features that this season has to offer.
Conduit – Greatness from Anywhere
Conduit, a charming and capable Legend who joins the team this season. She’s a little sassy like Rampart, but plays like a hybrid form of Wattson, Catalyst, and Bangalore meshed into one. She is inspired by Titanfall Lore is always interesting to me. I also like her emphasis on friends, culture and family. In her introduction trailer, we got a taste of her infectious and positive personality. She was joking around with Mirage and Gibraltar. While she’s billed as a supporting class, her abilities are quite impressive. She can lead the charge in battle, and be used either defensively or offensively depending on your style and circumstances. Below are her abilities:
- Active Ability Savior’s Speed – Receive a burst of speed when you’re out of tactical range and running towards your allies.
- The ability to act tactically: Radiant Transfer – Generate temporary shields on a teammate while receiving a similar buff.
- The Ultimate Ability Energy Barricade – Deploy an array of shield-jamming devices that damage and slow enemies.
Storm Point – Raining Bullets in the Forecast
As a fan of the game since…forever (or at least since it was announced), Storm Point is my favorite map. Period. Yes, I really love Olympus too, but there’s just something about the layout, aesthetics, and overall feel of Storm Point. Ignite is a new overhaul for the Ignite series, so I was excited to see what it would bring.
I wasn’t surprised to hear the playable area was being reduced in size – it is the biggest map after all. I’m sure we’ve all had matches where you’re down to the last ring or two and still haven’t encountered any enemies. It’s exciting to have a Storm Point smaller that can lead to more combat. Plus, with several new Points of Interest to discover like Wattson’s Town Takeover and Devastated Coast, there will be plenty of new sights to see. Storms bring the wildlife out, so prepare for prowlers, spiders, and the team that has the electrifying Storm Point version yet.
Cross Progression – Unite and Conquer
This season, one of the most requested features will be available. Apex Legends: Ignite! Cross Progression allows you to combine cosmetics, achievements, badges and other data from all of your platforms into one account. It is an automatic process and the summary screen shows you what changes are being made. The account you are currently using will serve as your base, and will include all the unlocked items and achievements that you’ve earned. The update is great, particularly if you’ve unlocked multiple heirlooms across different platforms. Now, they can all be added to one account.
Ranked and Meta Updates – The Best Competitive Experience Yet
Apex Legends: Ignite introduces a number of important updates as the Respawn team has continued to make Ranked a key focus for this season, especially in how they’re smoothing out the Ranked climb experience. We’re getting three significant changes to Ranked that are making this look like the best competitive Apex experience yet. First, for Ranked rewards, they’ll be replacing the skydive trail with a new Ranked banner frame that players will get to keep indefinitely. Next, Promotional Trials will raise the stakes for players by tying their results to their progression – no more climbing while sitting on the sideline! Finally, they’ve removed the party restrictions on Ranked for Trios.
As is customary with every new season, Apex LegendsThere will be changes to Legends, weapons and gameplay to improve the meta. It’s always best to check the official patch notes to see exactly what specific changes are being introduced, but one I can tell you I will be on the lookout for is the Red Tier Wingman being added to Care Package drops. Wingman’s power is impressive, so I can only image what it would be like if a Red Tier Wingman with Skullpiercer attachment was added. Don’t leave this one behind. If you or your teammates don’t want to use it, at least hide it somewhere. You don’t want this kind of firepower in the hands of the opposing team. Admittedly, I’m not the best with the Wingman, but I will absolutely take a red one every time I find one!
The highlights include a new Battle Pass with skins and banner frames as well as emotes and weapon charms. There are also upcoming events and challenges. Apex LegendsTeam is to unveil more information about its collaboration with Post Malone, on November 2, 2018. You don’t want to miss this news, so mark your calendar and stay tuned!
