Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event brings back Control mode
Apex Legends’ Control will be back with the latest, limited-time event. It is the 9v9 version of the game that was first introduced back in February. Control’s return is one highlight in the Awakening Collection Event that gets underway June 21.
Another highlight: Lifeline gets a close-up with the latest Town Takeover, where a portion of the map is modeled on one of the game’s heroes. In this case, Lifeline’s Clinic, “a new place to heal up and chill out,” will be found in the northeast corner of Olympus, between Gardens and Grow Towers.
There is a Medical bay where you can heal your fighters. The Clinic also has a Care Package console at the back that gives out loot once per round.
As for Control, that will play on World’s Edge for the first time, with standbys Olympus and Storm Point also in the rotation. Respawn Entertainment has promised improvements to matchmaking with the next update. In these slots, which were vacant at Control’s beginning, new players will fill them in. This is expected to reduce imbalanced matches.
Control appeared at the beginning of season 12 and was brought back for that season’s Collection Event in March, so a return engagement here was somewhat expected.
This is a limited time collection, which means that there will be 24 cosmetics available for purchase, including Legendary skins from Horizon, Fuse and Ash. Apex Legends’ Visit the official website for more information.
Apex Legends It’s currently in its thirteenth season called Saviors. This series, which aired from May 10 through early August, will be the longest. The 13th season introduced Newcastle as a Legend and major updates to Storm Point’s map.
