Alan Wake 2 Will Have Performance Mode On PS5, Xbox Series X And 30FPS Mode

Alan Wake 2, which was first revealed at The Game Awards in 2021, continues to impress and stun with its stunning visuals. Remedy Entertainment has released a number of beautiful trailers and gameplay videos since then. Thomas Puha, Remedy’s communications director confirmed today on Twitter that Alan Wake 2, will feature a performance mode for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Puha specifically mentions “Xbox Series X” in his tweet, and not Xbox Series S. As of now, it is unclear whether the Performance mode mentioned earlier will make its way to Xbox Series S Consoles. Game InformerRemedy was contacted to confirm the information and we will be updating this article if more is learned.

Alan Wake 2 launches on PC as well, though there are no modes. Instead, the game allows players to tweak their settings. Puha says Alan Wake 2 has been designed from the very beginning to be a visual and ambient experience. However, somehow we managed to incorporate a Performance mode. Puha, however, says that the team won’t be able to discuss details of this Performance mode until later.

Someone replied to Puha’s tweet by asking, “When you talk about performance, are you talking about unlocked, with a target of 60fps or do you mean a majority 60fps lock?” Remedy, according to Puha, is still “tweaking that.” Alan Wake 2, which is due out on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 in October, will have a Performance Mode.
