Alan Wake 2 Will Have A Performance Mode On PS5 And Xbox Series X
Alan Wake 2, which was first revealed at The Game Awards in 2021, continues to impress and stun with its stunning visuals. Remedy Entertainment has released a number of beautiful trailers and gameplay videos since then. Thomas Puha from Remedy Communications confirmed via Twitter today that Alan Wake will be available on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 with a Performance Mode.
Puha tweeted “Xbox Series X,” not the Xbox Series S, which is a weaker console. It’s not clear if Performance mode, as mentioned above, will be coming to Xbox Series S; Play InformerRemedy was contacted to confirm the information and we will be updating this article if more is learned.
I’m glad to say that Alan Wake 2 will have a Performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X. It was designed from the start to have a smooth 30fps gameplay, focusing on visuals. But we managed to incorporate a performance mode. We’ll talk details later.

Alan Wake 2 launches on PC as well, though there are no modes. Instead, the game allows players to tweak their settings. Puha notes that Alan Wake 2 has been designed from the outset to be a visual and ambient experience with a focus on 30fps. However, “we have somehow managed to incorporate a strong Performance mode.” Puha said that details on the Performance mode will be revealed later.
Someone replied to Puha’s tweet by asking, “When you talk about performance, are you talking about unlocked, with a target of 60fps or do you mean a majority 60fps lock?” Remedy, according to Puha, is still “tweaking that.” Alan Wake 2, which is due out on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 in October, will have a Performance Mode.
