Alan Wake 2 Gets Unedited Gameplay And New Story Details

Sam Lake, Remedy’s head of development, revealed more information about the survival horror game Alan Wake 2 during Summer Game Fest.

Sam Lake revealed new details about Alan Wake 2 that were previously unveiled. You can play both as FBI agent Saga and Alan, a newcomer to the game. They each have separate campaigns but are connected. Saga can explore the pacific Northwest, while Alan is trying to escape Dark Realm. Players can freely switch characters, which opens up an array of different storytelling options. You can play the entire game with one character.

The sequel’s shift to pure survival horror is shown off with the game’s heavy Resident Evil vibes as Saga riddles a terrifying killer with bullets while dodging his attacks. The trailer ends with some investigative gameplay, but we don’t get a long look at this part of the experience.
