Baldur’s Gate 3 Cleric Class Spells, Features, and Subclasses

Baldurs Gate 3You can choose between 12 different classes when creating your character. You can choose from 12 classes when you create your character. ClericIt is a divine-magic-wielding caster.

The Cleric is a bit more active than the average caster. They have more access to healing spells than most, but they’ve got plenty of offensive spells, too. The primary stat for this class is The Wisdom of the People.

Features of the Cleric classes

You can also use Hit Points to calculate your score.

  • Hit Dice — The Cleric’s level is 1d8.
  • At 1st level, the Hit Points are at a maximum of 100. — 8 + your Constitution modifier
  • Higher Hit Points — 5 + your Constitution modifer per Cleric level after 1st

Spells

Each Long Rest gives Clerics 3 Cantrips as well as 2 Spell Slots at level 1.

Proficiencies

  • Weapons — Simple Weapons, Morningstars
  • Armor — Light Armor, Medium Armor, Shields

Cleric spells

Clerics begin with the Cleric’s spell list and three of its cantrips.

Thaumaturgy Get an advantage on Performance and Intimidation Checks
Sacred Flame Engulf an enemy in a radiance similar to flames (DEX Save)
Advice The target receives a bonus of +1d4 to all Ability Checks
Resistance Save Throws are given a 1d4 boost to increase the resistance of a spell’s effects or conditions.
Light Aura of Light can be infused into an object
Blade Ward Get half the damage when you Bludgeon, Pierce, or Slash.
Product Flame When thrown, a flame from your hand will shed light on a 30-foot radius.

The Cleric is also given two spell slots of level one per rest. Only four out of 11 of their spells can be prepared.

Inflct Wrks Putrefy the creature by 3d10 necrotic damage
Shield of Faith Protect the creature against attacks by adding +2 AC
Bane The penalty is -1d4 for up to three creatures on attack rolls and saving throws
Bless Up to three creatures can be blessed with an additional 1d4 on attack rolls and save throws
Order You can command a creature in several ways: to run, to move closer, to freeze, to drop down to the floor, or to drop its weapon.
Make or destroy water Bring on the rains or demolish a surface that is water-based
Protection against Evil and Good Protect an ally from the powers and attacks of the aberrations and celestials.

Subclasses within the Cleric class

Clerics select their subclasses (Domains) when creating a character.

Life Domain

Life Domain Clerics focus on healing and health, and use spells to protect and restore.

  • Spells — Cure Wounds, Bless
  • The following are some examples of — Disciple of Life (when casting a healing spell, the target regains an additional 2 + the spell’s level HP)
  • Proficiencies — Heavy Armor

Light Domain

Light Domain clerics battle both darkness and the Undead.

  • Spells — Light cantrip, Burning Hands, Faerie Fire
  • The following are some examples of — Warding Flare (use your reaction to impose Disadvantage on an attacker)

Domaine Trickery

The Trickery domain Clerics are experts in illusion and deception.

  • Actions — Blessing of the Trickster (grant another creature advantage on Stealth Checks)
  • Spells — Charm Person, Disguise Self

Knowledge Domain

Knowledge Domain The Clerics are focused on the pursuits of mind.

  • Spells — Command, Sleep

Nature Domain

Nature Domain Clerics can be considered divine Druids.

  • Spells — Shillelagh cantrip, Speak with Animals, Animal Friendship
  • The following are some examples of — Learn a Druid Cantrip and gain Proficiency Animal Handling, nature, or survival
  • Proficiencies — Heavy Armor

Tempest Domain

Tempest Domain Clerics, on the other hand, focus more attention on the frightening parts of nature.

  • Spells — Thunderwave, Fog Cloud
  • The following are some examples of — Wrath of the Storm (Strike back at an attacking creature with 2d8 Lightning damage
  • Proficiencies — Martial Weapons, Heavy Armor

War Domain

War Domain Clerics is the militant subclass.

  • Spells — Divine Favor, Shield of Faith
  • The following are some examples of — War Priest (when you make an attack, spend a War Priest Charge to make an additional attack as a bonus action)

Channel Divinity

Clerics can now gain access to the following abilities at level 2. Channel DivinityOnce per day, recharge with either a short or long rest.

Each subclass Druid receives the Turn Undead Pray to turn all the undead you see. Channel Divinity gives you additional options depending on your domain:

  • Life Domain — Save Life Heals allies within 30 feet
  • Light Domain — Radiance of Dawn Remove any dark magic with Radiant damage of 2d10+1.
  • Trickery Domain — Invoke DuplicityIf you are within 10ft from the illusion then your Attack Rolls will be favored.
  • Knowledge Domain — Know the Ages Gain Proficiency for all the Skills in a selected Ability
  • Nature Domain — Charming Animals and Plants Channel fey magical power to attract nearby animals and plants
  • Tempest Domain — Destructive Wishes When you choose maximum damage (instead of Thunder of Lightning), you will be able to receive the full damage.
  • War Domain — Guided StrikeGain a +10 on an attack roll
