See What Went Into Making Cuphead’s Physical Edition Trailer
Studio MDHR launched a physical retail edition two months ago of Cuphead. A charming trailer featuring Cuphead and friends, physical puppets. They are out exploring the seas looking for sunken treasure. They discover news about a collector’s and physical edition of Cuphead. Although the cute trailer is only about a minute in length, the puppet and set designs are complex, which makes you wonder how much effort went into making it.
Today, the studio released a behind-the-scenes look at how its retail partner iam8bit created the sets and puppets of that trailer. The video shows the process of team building and filming it.
Maja Moldenhauer, Studio MDHR Director, stated in a press release that a physical version of Cuphead was something she’s been looking forward to for some time. Cuphead’s design is based on the nostalgic feeling of pulling a favorite game off of the shelf and opening it to discover a whole new world or challenge. It’s a wonderful experience, and Skybound and iam8bit have done a great job bringing Cuphead to players with the same care and craftsmanship as how they made it. It’s been a busy year at Studio MDHR and I can’t imagine a better way for us to end it than this release.
You can view the trailer below if you have missed the final product.
