Splatoon 3 brings back the Splatfest, with a three-way twist and a demo
Splatoon 3 will bring back the series’ popular multiplayer events known as Splatfests when the Nintendo Switch competitive ink-shooter launches this summer. However, Splatoon 3’s version of Splatfests, where players fight for a themed side (e.g., sci-fi vs. fantasy, vampires vs. werewolves) will have a twist: Instead of two team choices, players will pick from one of three sides. And they’ll ultimately battle for dominance in a three-team, 4v2v2 match called the Tricolor Turf War.
Nintendo announced the debut of Splatfest. Splatoon 3Nintendo Direct Presentation on Wednesday. It’ll be rock vs. paper vs. scissors, and will kick off on Aug. 27 as part of a Splatoon 3 demo coming to Switch ahead of the game’s full release in September. As you can see, Team Rock and Team Paper will be fighting it out.
In the first part, three teams will battle in Turf War battles 4-v-4. Tricolor Turf War Battles will be the second part of the game. This mode allows three teams to fight simultaneously. In this 4-v-2-v-2 format, can the top-ranked team defend itself?
It sounds and looks crazy, but it is fun to remix the Splatoon Splatfest recipe.
