Xbox at gamescom 2022 – Xbox Wire

We’re excited to return to gamescom in Cologne, Germany this August and hang out in person with the community for the first time since 2019!  

We’re really looking forward to being back on the show floor, bringing our passionate fans together again in person to celebrate what’s ahead at Xbox. Fans from Europe and the rest of the globe can get a glimpse into the previously announced games that will be coming to Xbox within the next twelve months at gamescom 2022. 

We’re also very pleased to announce the return of Xbox FanFest to the show floor. More details on this and everything else we’re up to at gamescom 2022, can be found below. Here’s what to expect.  

Xbox Booth 

The Xbox Booth will return to Hall 8 this year with 36 stations and a great line-up for content that will come to Xbox over the next twelve months. Many of these will also be available on Game Pass.

If you are unable to attend in person, then you can get hands-on experience with the latest Xbox Game Studios games, updates, and more.

You can get the Xbox App for your new 2022 Samsung Smart TV on our booth. It is all part of our goal to make it easy to share the best games with everyone, anytime, any place. 

Not only will you be able to play the latest video games but there are also some great photo opportunities. You’ll be able to… 

• Face-to-face meeting with the original boss GroundedThe Broodmother is a giant spider that measures 5m (17ft) in width and would love to take a photo with you
• With whom? Sea of Thieves

We can’t wait to see what you get up to.   

Xbox believes that games should be accessible, safe, inclusive and accessible to all. That’s why we’re ensuring that Xbox Adaptive Controllers will be available on request and all areas of the booth will be wheelchair accessible. Additionally, easily identifiable American Sign Language (ASL), British Sign Language (BSL), and German Sign Language (DGS) interpreters, as well as “Here To Help” staff, will be available to assist players of all abilities.   

We are also pleased to announce that Xbox is an official partner of “gamescom goes green” and we have made a voluntary climate contribution to ClimatePartner toWe will offset our CO2 emissions from the show floor. Our commitment to reducing waste is also evident in our design, present and dismantling of the Xbox booth. All of this forms part of Xbox’s commitment to our players and the industry to work tirelessly to reduce our environmental impact in a responsible way.

Xbox Booth @ gamescom Live-Stream 

Live from the Xbox Booth at gamescom, on Thursday, August 25 from 2:00pm CEST – 8:00pm CEST / 5:00am PT – 11:00am PT / 8:00am ET – 2:00pm ET we’ll also host a special day of live-streamed conversations. Expect developer interviews and gameplay from various Xbox Game Studios including Mojang Studios, Obsidian Entertainment, and World’s Edge plus Xbox Game Studios Publishing and their partners at Asobo Studio, in addition to some of our highly anticipated games from our third-party partners. The live English-language broadcast from Xbox’s gamescom booth will be available in German, French, Polish, Italian, Spanish (Latin American & Castilian), Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified), along with ASL, BSL and DGS interpretation, and English Audio Descriptions. All the Xbox Booth @gamescom Live streams can be viewed on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook.

Xbox FanFest @gamescom 

After Hours Booth Access Event 

After hours, Xbox FanFest will hold a special event at the Xbox Booth. This special event will occur on Wednesday, August 24, from 8:00pm – 11:00pm CEST and gives select fans a chance to beat the crowds and get access to the booth before the show opens to public ticket holders. There’s no better way to connect with others in the Xbox community than being together in-person. Fun booth activities can be enjoyed by all fans, with meet and greets from game creators included. Register as a Xbox FanFest Fan at xbox.com/fanfest to be eligible for the chance to win tickets to the After Hours Booth Access Event. The entry period closes August 15, at 11:59 p.m. PT. 

Virtual Meet & Greets with Sea of Thieves and Park Beyond. 

Can’t make it to gamescom in person this year? You don’t have to miss gamescom? Xbox FanFest will host Meet & Greets with Sea of Thieves Park BeyondFriday, August 26, Microsoft Teams calls are open to all fans, regardless of their location. This virtual experience gives you the chance to talk directly with game developers about their games, and how they have been working in this industry.
