The Walking Dead season 11 part 3 release date announced at San Diego Comic Con

The Walking Dead season 11 part 3 — or season 11C, whatever folks are calling it, this is the end of AMC’s long-running survival adventure — will premiere October 2, 2022. In a trailer that was highly anticipated at San Diego Comic-Con, AMC announced the date.

Season 11 will see Norman Reedus return as Daryl. Melissa McBride returns as Carol. Khary Payton plays Ezekiel. Lauren Cohan is Maggie Greene. Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins the cast as Negan. Eight episodes complete the 24th season, which aired its first episode in October 2010. AMC previewed the final stretch with an action-packed trailer, one of our last looks at Caryl and the upcoming confrontation with the Commonwealth’s Governor Pamela Milton (Laila Robins) and Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton).

At the SDCC, there was a packed stage for the Walking Dead Panel. Reedus and McBride were joined by Payton, Morgan, Ross Marquand (seth Gilliam), Seth Gilliam and Josh McDermitt. Also, Cailey Flaming, Lauren Ridloff and Michael James Shaw were also present. Scott Gimple was there as chief content creator of the franchise, alongside showrunner Angela Kang and Greg Nicotero, multihyphenate.

The 11th season, originally expected in October 2020, was interrupted by the global COVID-19 pandemic and reshuffled AMC’s plans for the series finale. The first part of Season 11 was broadcast from Aug. 22 through Oct. 10, 2021. Part two aired from February 20 to April 10.

Though the 12-year-old series, based on the comic book series started by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore 2003, has steadily lost viewership, the last season is hardly the end of the franchise’s run on AMC. Spinoff series. Tales of the Walking Dead, Premieres on August 14. AMC also has a scheduled Isle of the DeadThe series, which focuses on Maggie Greene (and Negan), will air in 2023. An unnamed spinoff featuring Reedus playing Daryl will air soon (McBride departed the series last April).
