Mario Strikers: Battle League’s first free DLC drops Friday, adds Daisy

Mario Strikers: Battle LeagueThis week will see the first release of post-release content, with new rivals Daisy and Shy Guey. Nintendo announced Tuesday the release of the Nintendo Switch’s first free update. It also confirmed two other updates will arrive by the end 2022.

Daisy is technique-type player, who can’t be knocked down — even by the fattest, grossest Yoshi tongue, as shown in a new Mario Strikers: Battle League trailer. In her Super Strike move she summons flowers to pitch, which launches the opposition team into the air.

Joining Daisy is Shy Guy, the masked minion who is described as an all-rounder “whose gear choices are key” to success. Shy Guy’s Super Strike turns him into a spinning projectile to deliver a nasty header.

Nintendo and Next Level Games also give away Mario Strikers: Battle LeagueNew cosmetics for players include a gear set featuring a knight and the Desert Ruin Stadium. This content will arrive in Switch’s game on July 21.

Daisy and Shy Guy expand the game’s existing roster, which also includes Mario, Bowser, Luigi, Peach, Rosalina, Yoshi, Toad, Donkey Kong, Wario, and Waluigi. Many more potential candidates are still available, just like the Strikers’ previous title. Mario Strikers ChargedWii also had Bowser Jr. (Diddy Kong), Petey Piranha and Hammer Bro. Koopa Troopa was Birdo Boo. Dry Bones was Monty Mole.
