While video games and the workplace may not appear to share much in common at first glance, they actually teach us many valuable lessons. Whatever your job title, chances are you’ve learned at least one of these things in a game and used at least one of the skills listed at work – probably more.
1. Analytical skills are improved by using puzzles and strategy
There are many games with puzzles or strategies, but some games consist of only puzzles. While stereotypes of angry players screaming at a mic during cooperative games aren’t true all the time, both competitive and co-operative multiplayer games can expose us to different people. Interacting with other players in this manner teaches us how to interact, handle various personalities, and even work as a cohesive team.
