Zonaite Armor location in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
It is important to note that the word “you” means “you”. Zonaite ArmorThis is the most complete armor set available. Tears of the Kingdom: The Legend of Zelda. And, appropriately, it’s also one of the most difficult to find. Each piece is tucked away on Sky Islands that you can’t reach by normal gliding or wing methods.
While these challenges might seem designed for later in the game when you have more energy cells, you can actually collect the set quite early” it’s best that you do. The Zonaite Armor set — which includes the Zonaite Helm, Zonaite Waistguard, and Zonaite Shin Guards — reduces how much energy Zonai devices consume, so you can fly, drive, or glide further without having to rely on Zonai charges.
Zonaite Armor Legs Piece Location
It is not necessary to order the Zonaite in any particular order. I suggest starting with the legs piece. It’s the easiest to get, and the power consumption buff it gives you makes obtaining the other two pieces easier.

Zonaite Legs Piece is available in the Akkala Sky MineTake care to maneuver your way up the hill.
What is the best way to reach Akkala Skymine?
You’ll need to unlock the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower in Akkala first. If you haven’t done that already, the easiest way to reach there is taking the road east from Woodland Stable. The road runs along the side of the tower and through a small valley.
Akkala is home to two skymines. It is the closest sky mine to Ulri Mountain Tower, however it has only a few treasures and Natak Shrine. The one you need, called just “Sky Mine,” is hovering over the Rist Peninsula.
With batteries, enough charges and the plan to build a fan or balloon, you may be able land on an island nearby and get up without any problems.
If you, like me, only have one energy cell and no fancy Autobuild plans, here’s what you should do. You can land here after you’ve fired yourself from the Ulri Mountain mountain tower:

The boss Flux Construct can be ignored or fought. Instead, walk to the square platform. You’ll find a ready-made fan platform with a few batteries already attached and some extra fans and batteries scattered around. Attach all batteries using Ultrahand.
What if you are a Large Zonai ChargeOr a dozen regular or more. ChargesAttaching the other fans will help the platform move more quickly.

The Sky Mine is still accessible with fans already installed.
Hop on board when you’re ready and interact with the control stick. You’re going to this island and the lower level.

The Zonaite Armor Legs piece
You can glide down if you go too high. To start the block-pushing giants, you need to turn on the ring at the bottom.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
Once you reach the top, turn the pusher so it faces the large floating sphere. Once you reach the top, turn the pusher so it’s facing the large floating sphere. It’s a good idea to save your progress for the next section in case you have to try it again.

Ultrahand is a great tool to use when you want to insert a piece of block into sphere. If your positioning was accurate, you’ll see it fly into the sphere’s opening. Now it’s your turn. You can now step onto the propeller and be launched into the sky. You’ll probably need to climb a bit to get inside.

If you end up in the sphere’s lower half, use Ascend to go through the ceiling. You will find in the center the Zonaite Shin Guards chest, which gives you +4 protection and decreases the Zonai energy usage.

Zonaite Armor Chest Piece Location
Hidden on the Zonaite Armor Chest Piece Zonai Forge islet, but depending on which devices you have, you’ll need to get the Zonai Hydrant device. Then, prepare some food that replenishes stamina and then go to the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower in Kakariko Village. Start by launching yourself in the air, then angle your body southwards.

It may be easier to launch from the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower.
Once you’ve arrived, turn on Ukoojisi Shrine and throw some Zonai Charges into the dispenser. You only need one Hydrant, so don’t worry about trying for several unless you just want them. Make sure you’ve got a spare rocket or a fan before continuing.
Zonai Forge Island: How to reach it
At the northeastern end of the island, you’ll find a floating platform with a The rocket is a great way to get startedAbout a dozen spare rockets are lying about.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
Move each rocket using Ultrahand onto the platform. don’t attach them yet. Position them upright so they don’t fall. Zonai Forge Island is higher than you can reach with a wing, and you’ll need every rocket here to get there.
Strike the single attached rocket once you’re ready to begin. Attach one more rocket after the initial one disappears, and keep doing this until you’re level with Forge Island. You can move towards the island by using a rocket or fan. The floating platform starts to blink, and will eventually disappear when you are close. Glide toward the island and hop off the platform before it disappears.
Here is where you need to be:

The Zonaite Chest Piece
Interact with the ring to activate the fans of the chimney stacks, and use them to reach the island’s top stack.

The center stack is the best place to start. Mission ImpossibleThe process involves lasers. It is necessary to keep the diving button pressed all the time because of the resistance provided by the fan.

Once you’ve reached the bottom, activate Yansamin Shrine. Use your hydrant to create platforms as near to the wall of the shrine as possible. Hop on the platform and use Ascend, and you’ll pop out in a secret room with the chest containing the Zonaite Waistguard, which has +4 defense and reduces your Zonai device energy consumption.

Zonaite Armor Head Piece Location
It is difficult to get the Zonaite Headpiece, as you have to be able to reach Lightcast IslandA location that is so high up in the air, it’s in a zone of low gravity.
Take the following steps before you set off:
- Rocket 3
- One fan
- Control stick
- Zonai charge:
- Two dishes of spicy peppers sauteed each with five peppers
- Stamina Wheel: At least two energy elixirs which fully restore the stamina wheel
You’ll also need the Zora Armor chestpiece, so head to Lanayru and start Sidon’s quest if you haven’t done so already.
Lightcast Island – How to Get There
Lightcast Island lies in the southern skies, south of Rito’s Village and roughly at the centre of Tabantha Frontier. It’s also one of the highest points in the game, and unless you have several energy cells, batteries, a few dozen Zonai charges, and some good Autobuild schematics, you can’t get there without jumping through some hoops.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
Launch yourself in the air by unlocking Rospro Pass Skyview Tower, located north of Rito village. Head south toward this small cluster of islands just north of the “West Hebra” label on your map. Take out the Constructs in the area and then hop onto one of the Zonai platforms. You can eat one of the meals that are resistant to cold. Even if you have Snowquill Armor, it’s best to wear your Zonaite Armor and conserve energy, unless you have plenty of energy to spare.
Wait and activate the balloon. By the time I reached this part of the journey I had a full energy and half of a second. Three depletions were required to reach the level I wanted to be at. I also had two pieces of Zonaite Armor.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
Then, turn south and head towards these islands.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
Attach your rocket horizontally so that it faces the desired direction. Repeat the procedure at least twice more. In the distance to the south, you’ll see a waterfall. If necessary, attach a fan on the platform to blow you closer.
You will see the platform blinking and disappearing as you near it. Change into the Zora chest armor piece and glide towards the waterfall.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
The waterfall is reached by nearly two stamina wheel. As your stamina begins to diminish, you should drink your elixirs. Once you reach the waterfall, you’ll automatically start swimming up.
On the island where you land, there is a mine cart path leading up another island. Also scattered are some other devices. Place the minecart on the track. Put two rockets in the minecart. Don’t attach the rockets. Attach a fan to the back of the cart, and it’ll take you to the next island.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
The second mine cart has additional rockets on it, two wings and some fans. There is also a new track for the mines. You can use the spare rockets on the second mine cart to reach another island with a Sage’s Will, but to reach Lightcast Island, I recommend ignoring the Sage’s Will for now. It is important that you have spare rockets.
Also, I recommend that you save in case of a problem. You can return to your previous island, and you will be able to bring the spare rockets over.
You can build a Fan Plane using three fans attached to an wing, as shown (or you can also use Autobuild and Zonaite if that option is enabled).
Put the control stick and your spare rockets between the fans. Attach the rockets to the space in-between. Place the wing at the bottom of the slope using Ultrahand, then hop onto the slope and turn on the control stick.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
After taking off, angle your wing up toward Lightcast Island and recharge as you move. Zonai Charges can be used to recharge your energy if there are several extra. It is not clear how to do this. be able to reach a point where you can either climb the island’s underside or use Ascend to reach the top. If, like me, you didn’t, that’s okay.
As you near the bottom, your wing’s blinking will stop. Press “B” to disengage the control stick when the blinking starts, jump off, and glide. This island is where you should be heading.
You can ignore the Flux Construct and proceed to the area in the middle of the island. Here, you’ll find another fan platform with plenty of batteries, the same as the one near the Akkala Sky Mine. Take off with all your extra batteries.
Lightcast Island can be reached easily.
What is the Zonaite Headpiece?
Save once you reach the island, since there’s no fast travel point. Also, be careful when jumping. Gravity is low here, so you’ll jump higher and travel further.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
Activate the ring mechanism at the island’s western end, blow up the rocks in the center of the island, and go inside. You’ll find two mirrors. Ultrahand the mirror you want to use and angle it towards the opposite end.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
Repeat the procedure until you reach the final mirror that points downward.
Use Ultrahand to maneuver the spare mirror until it reaches the vertical light. Drop the mirror there and angle it towards the orange hexagon. You can defeat the construct first.
Image: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon
The entire chamber will be illuminated. Move in front of the now-green hexagon, use Ascend, and you’ll pop up in front of the chest with the Zonaite Helm, which, like the other pieces of this set, has +4 defense and reduces your Zonai device energy consumption.
