Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom update patches out dupe glitches

Nintendo recently released a brand new update for Tears of the Kingdom: The Legend of ZeldaOn Tuesday, a variety of bugs were fixed that prevented some players from progressing and fairies appearing. The latest update to Tears of Kingdom — version 1.2.0 — also addresses some bugs that were advantageous to players. Nintendo has indeed cracked down on some duplication bugs that were discovered by players, such as the amusing (and handy) frozen meat glitch.

Version 1.2.0 also seems to have nullified a few other duplication methods, including the glitch at Tobio’s Hollow Chasm, the shock emitter glitch, Fuse entanglement, and the exploit using extreme weather and Autobuild. These bugs were also present in version 1.1.2. Tears of Kingdom. It appears that players can duplicate items with an item throwing exploit. However, it takes a bit more time.

Nintendo added another new feature, which allows users to gain some items in the game by starting a launcher. Tears of Kingdom from the Switch News channel — a feature that was also available in Breath Of The Wild.

Tuesday’s patch fixes a few issues with a handful of main quests, a shrine quest, and side quests, so read on if one that you’re stuck on is flagged in Nintendo’s patch notes below.

Latest Updates

• The HOME Menu allows players to access a list of items in the game by starting from certain articles that have been published on specific Switch News channels.
• It may not be possible to receive the items depending on where you are in your gameplay or whether it is the first time the data has been reopened.

Extra Fixes

• Fixed an issue where players could not progress beyond a certain point in the main quests “A Mystery in the Depths” and “Secret of the Ring Ruins,” the side adventures “Hateno Village Research Lab” and “Lurelin Village Restoration Project,” the shrine quest “Dyeing to Find It,” and the side quests “Village Attacked by Pirates,” “The Incomplete Stable,” and “Seeking the Pirate Hideout.” Downloading the update will allow players to proceed past that point.
• The issue that was preventing the fairies to appear under certain conditions, when they were originally supposed to be appearing, has been fixed.
• The issue that was preventing Kiana’s Lurelin village from changing the meal provided under certain conditions has been resolved.
• To improve gameplay, several issues were addressed.
