Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fans are finding real life ‘Zonai devices’
Tears of the Kingdom: The Legend of ZeldaSwings back and forth between the high fantasy world of Avatar, as well as that of everyday life. Link’s tool kit can consist of mystical fire rods or just a plain old fan. Far from being boring, the “normal” side of this fantasy world helps inspire awe in those everyday objects and occurrences. Now, Tears of Kingdom People are sharing videos that show how they view Hyrule every day.
Link gains new powers. Tears of KingdomHe can also use items from Hyrule to create contraptions. Link can use random items from the world to construct, including rocks and scrap wood, but can also use Zonai Devices, a special technology that was handed down by an ancient civilization. While some Zonai devices look like real objects, they have many sci-fi applications. A fan just isn’t a fan, but can be combined with other objects to create a glider or a hoverbike.
Now people are drawing comparisons between Link’s escapades and their real life. This TikToker, for example makes jokes on how Link can hit the Zonai gadgets to turn them off and on. The person in this video throws a cassette dispenser at the fan to make it look like it has been turned on.
Or there’s this person, who appears to be thinking really hard about this fan after playing the game.
Enjoy this great joke.
In this one, the TikToker plays up the adventure elements in the game by making jokes about discovering a temple in the woods.
It’s all mainly a meme. But I’d like to think that the power of Tears of KingdomThis is much more than a place where people can escape to. It also encourages seeing the wider world with a sense of openness and curiosity — and I think that’s pretty dang cute.
