Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Getting Local Co-op And 16:10 Support On PC

There are many new features for those who want to play and buy Ys IX: Monstrum Nox. Seriously, though. Play Ys VIII, IX

The Steam version has received a significant update that includes local co-op. You can watch the video above to see this feature in action. It allows two players to take over the control of one another, as long as there is at least one playable character in the scene. The Steam announcement of the update talks about how co-op has changed from the original Ys title. It states that the second player can use the same abilities as the primary player, such as movement, combat, Monstrum Gifts and the ability to trigger landmarks and enemies. They also have the ability to open chests and collect collectibles. The only player that can interact with the menus or map is allowed to do so. It’s quite impressive that multiplayer can be integrated into an extremely single-player environment.

You can also join the game with 16:10 support. This allows you to use slightly narrower displays. The upcoming Steam Deck handheld display has this aspect ratio. Developers were able to capture a photo of the game on the device.

These bug fixes are the final part of this update. Check out the complete developer post here.
