Xbox Insider Release Notes – Omega (2310.231005-2200)

Hello Xbox Insiders. The Omega ring will soon be receiving a preview of the Xbox Update. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.

We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. You can find the full details below.

System Update Details:

• OS Version Released: XB_FLT_2310ZN25398.2488.231005-2200
• Purchase Now: 4 p.m. PT – October 10, 2023
• Mandatory: 4 p.m. PT – October 11, 2023

Please Note:You can always find the most recent update as soon as it is available by opening the Updates tab. Open the newest update to find it as soon a possible. Please Remember: Newly enrolled users in this ring are not guaranteed to receive all early updates, but they’ll receive the update prior to the GA release. The Newest Features and Experiences

Have some exciting news for you! Xbox Update preview users of Omega can look forward to a new update.

Play from the Profile

A random subset of users will notice with today’s update we’re making it easier to get, play, and see details about games others are playing directly from their profiles, as well as reorganizing the join and invite commands on these pages.

Xbox Game Pass

A random group of users that launches an Xbox Game Pass title soon to leave the catalog will get a dialog to help them understand when exactly the game is going to be removed and to offer a way to continue to play the game even after its removal.

The Fixes Have Been Implemented

We are pleased to announce that the following improvements have been made to this build thanks to the efforts of Xbox engineers:

Installation

• Microsoft Store updates and installations can no longer be stuck at 100%.

Click and Keyboard

• Fixed mouse clicking issues in supported titles.

• The console has been updated to correctly reflect all local languages.

There are known issues

Some issues may have already been addressed in prior Xbox Insider Release notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.

Audio

• There have been reports that users are experiencing audio problems intermittently across all dashboard, apps, games, etc. The latest firmware update for your TV, and any other devices you use may be the solution to problems you’ve experienced. If you’re unsure, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
  • Please Note:: If you continue to experience issues after applying the latest firmware updates, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”. Include as much detail as you can:
    • What was the initial cause of your problem?
    • Is the audio only in your game/app, or is it also system audio?
    • If yes, does changing the audio format solve the problem? How did the previous and new formats compare?
    • Is rebooting the system a solution?
    • What is your set-up? Equipment, layout, etc.
    • You can also provide additional information to try and reproduce the error.

Play the Game

• A fix for this issue will be released in a future update.
  • WorkaroundYou can either move it away from the console or remove it by unplugging your mouse.
• A fix for the issue that causes unexpected steering wheel vibrating in certain titles will be released in an upcoming update.

Xbox Controllers: Keyboard button mapping

• After quitting or restarting the console, your changes will take effect if you make any keyboard language adjustments while using the Xbox Accessories application.

Online Networking

• Reports indicate that consoles may not boot up to the network correctly. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.
  • WorkaroundIf your console is still not connected, restart it from the Power Center by holding down the Xbox button > Restart console > Restart. If your console still hasn’t connected, restart your Xbox from the Power Center by holding the Xbox button > Restart console > Restart.

Use only the best quality Report a Problem to keep us informed of your issue. We may not be able to respond to everyone, but the data we’ll gather is crucial to finding a resolution.
