Xbox Insider Release Notes – Omega (2309.230917-2200)

Hey Xbox Insiders. The Omega Ring will soon be receiving a preview of the Xbox Update. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.

We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. Below are the details!

System Update Details:

• OS Version Released: XB_FLT_2309ZN25398.2255.230917-2200

• Mandatory: 4 p.m. PT – September 20, 2023

Please Note:You can always find the most recent update as soon as it is available by opening the Updates tab. The most recent update is always available as soon as the software becomes available. Please Remember: Newly enrolled users in this ring are not guaranteed to receive all early updates, but they’ll receive the update prior to the GA release. A small group of users will also be able to stay on the current GA version once they have enrolled until the next mandatory system update is released. Visit the Xbox Insider Program FAQ to learn more.

The Fixes Have Been Implemented

The following fixes were implemented in this build, thanks to Xbox’s engineers.

• Fixes a problem where certain titles installed on Manage could show as not installed.

There are known issues

Some issues may have already been addressed in prior Xbox Insider Release notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.

Audio

• Users have reported intermittent audio issues across dashboards, games and apps.
  • Please Note:: If you experience issues with audio, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”.
  • Make sure you include as many details about the event as possible.
    • What was the initial cause of your problem?
    • Is the audio only in your game/app, or is it also system audio?
    • Is it possible to fix the problem by changing the format of the audio? What was the audio format prior to and after changing?
    • Is rebooting the system a solution?
    • What is your set-up? Equipment, layout, etc.
    • You can also provide additional information to try and reproduce the error.

Xbox Controller Keyboard Mapping

• In the Xbox Accessories app, the “Learn More” button is currently not functional.
• The change in keyboard language will take effect after you close the Xbox Accessories App or reboot your console.

Networking

• We’re investigating reports that the console might not be able to connect with their network at boot. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.
  • WorkaroundIf your console is still not connected, restart it from the Power Center by holding down the Xbox button > Restart console > Restart. If your console still hasn’t connected, restart your Xbox from the Power Center by holding the Xbox button > Restart console > Restart.

OneDrive allows you to upload your photos and videos.

• It may take some time to back up 1000+ images. Allow a couple of days to see everything.
