Xbox Insider Release Notes – Alpha Skip-Ahead (2408.231017-2000)

Hey Xbox Insiders. The Alpha Skip-Ahead Ring will soon be receiving a brand new Xbox Update. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.

We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. You can find the full details below.

System Update Details:

• OS Released Version: RS_XBOX_DEV_FLIGHT25977.1003.231017-2000
• Available: 2 p.m. PT – October 20, 2023
• Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – October 21, 2023

The Fixes Have Been Implemented

The following fixes were implemented in this build, thanks to Xbox’s engineers.

Apps

• This fix will address an issue that caused some apps to close unintentionally shortly after launch (error 0x80070005) or not launch at all.

The system is a

• Updates to reflect the local language across consoles.
  • Notes: Users participating in Preview may see “odd” text across the console, for more information go here.

Problems that are already known

Some issues may have already been addressed in prior Xbox Insider Release notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.

Audiences can be heard by clicking on the following link:

• Users have reported intermittent audio issues across dashboards, games and apps. If you’re experiencing problems, ensure you have the most recent firmware update for your TV. If you’re unsure, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
  • Notes: If you continue to experience issues after applying the latest firmware updates, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”. Include as much detail as you can:
    • What was the initial cause of your problem?
    • Do you only lose audio in games/apps or also the system audio?
    • If yes, does changing the audio format solve the issue? How did the previous and new formats compare?
    • Rebooting the computer fixes this issue.
    • What’s included in your setup? Equipment, layout, etc.
    • Please provide any other information that you may have to help reproduce the issue.

Controllers

• The Share button might not work as you expect. We’re working to fix it.

Enjoy the Games

• Investigating reports about party management issues in certain titles.

Xbox Controller Keyboard Mapping

• The change in keyboard language will take effect after you close the Xbox Accessories App or restart your console.

Networking

• We’re investigating reports that the console might not be able to connect with their network at boot. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.

Use only the best quality Report a Problem to keep us informed of your issue. We may not be able to respond to everyone, but the data we’ll gather is crucial to finding a resolution.
