Xbox Insider Release Notes – Alpha Skip-Ahead (2408.230920-2000)

Hello Xbox Insiders. A new Xbox Update preview is coming soon to Alpha Skip-Ahead. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.

We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. Below are the details!

System Update Details:

• OS Release Version: RS_XBOX_DEV_FLIGHT25957.1001.230920-2000
• Available: 2 p.m. PT – September 22, 2023
• Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – September 23, 2023

Fixed

The following improvements were made for this version thanks to Xbox’s engineers.

My Games & Apps

• Some titles that were installed could appear as uninstalled on the Manage page.

• Updates to reflect the local language across console.

There are known issues

Some issues may have already been addressed in prior Xbox Insider Release notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.

Audio

• Users have reported intermittent audio issues across dashboards, games and apps.
  • Please Note:: If you experience issues with audio, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”.
  • Include as many details as you can:
    • When was the problem first raised?
    • Do you only lose audio in games/apps or also the system audio?
    • Is it possible to fix the problem by changing the format of the audio? How did the previous and new formats compare?
    • Rebooting the computer fixes this issue.
    • What’s included in your setup? Equipment, layout, etc.
    • Please provide any other information that you may have to help reproduce the issue.

Xbox Controllers: Keyboard button mapping

• The change in keyboard language will take effect after you close the Xbox Accessories App or restart your console.

Manage Queue

• Recently installed titles can wrap unexpectedly to the second row. We’re working to fix this.

Networking

• Reports indicate that consoles may not boot up to the network correctly. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.
  • WorkaroundIf your console is still not connected, restart it from the Power Center by holding down the Xbox button > Restart console > Restart. If your console still hasn’t connected, restart your Xbox from the Power Center by holding the Xbox button > Restart console > Restart.

Upload Your Captures To OneDrive

• You may need to wait a few days if you have a large number of images (over 1000) that you want to backup. It may take a few weeks for all of your images to be available.
