World of Warcraft and Mila Kunis team up with charity pets for Ukraine

Blizzard is releasing new pets. World of WarcraftAs part of a bundle to help Ukrainians. Publisher shared this information in a Mila Kunis video, an actress who was raised by Ukrainian parents. Sunny, the cheerful sunflower dog can be found in both retail and online versions. World of WarcraftFlurky is a good name for Wrath of the Lich King Classic. 100 percent of the bundle’s sales will go to BlueCheck Ukraine, an organization that identifies, vets, and assists Ukrainian NGOs.

The pets are anything from humble bugs to beautiful phoenixes. Sunny, a dog in bright colors with blue streaks that represent the Ukrainian flag. Florky, a murloc with webbed fingers holding a sunflower.

The Ukraine war is an on-going crisis that started in Feb. 2022 when Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a “special military operation” in Ukraine. Tens of thousands have died and millions have been forced to flee their homes since then.

BlueCheck Ukraine’s funds will be used to meet the highest priority needs. “Right now, the medical infrastructure in Ukraine is in desperate need,” says Kunis, in the video. “BlueCheck’s primary goal at the moment is to deliver life-saving generators and medical supplies to hospitals, especially pediatric units.”

It will cost $20 and be available until August 29. Although some bundles are released in the same order as other pets, they may not be available at all times. World of Warcraft in-game store separately later, it seems as though Sunny and Florky will remain exclusive to this cause, as text on the battle.net page for the bundle reads “These versions of pets are special editions available as a part of this initiative only.”
