Where is Destiny 2’s Xur and what is he selling, April 21 to 25?

Xur the mysterious Exotic Item Seller and Agent for the Nine is once again here in Destiny 2. Xur will bring you a variety of Exotics as well as a collection of old legendary armors and weapons to fill in any gaps.

The merchant is a character that appears in game every Friday from reset until the next week. He hangs around in various random places in the world. Destiny 2 — including inside the Tower.

Season of the Risen has been released. The Witch queen, Xur sells a random roll of both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale each week.

• Hawkmoon. Kinetic hand-cannon (Killing Wind), 125,000 Glimmer: 200 Legendary Shards; Exotic Cipher and Ascendant Shard
• Dead Man’s TaleKinetic Scout Rifle (Snapshot sights): 125,000 Glimmer. 200 Legendary Shards. Exotic Cipher. Ascendant Shard.

As of Season of the Lost, Xur also sells a collection of old armor and weapons — similar to Banshee-44 and Ada-1. These items can be hard to locate and are from long ago seasons. The cost of each item is 1,000 Glimmer plus 50 Legendary Shards.

What’s worth buying this week from Xur

Here’s some more specific advice on Xur’s wares this week, April 21 to 25:

THE WARDCLIFF COIL

Wardcliff Coil Guns are one of the funnest and most unique firearms in existence. Destiny 2. This is its first perk. Mad ScientistThe Wardcliff Coil fires a rocket volley. This is the secondary benefit. Automated AutoloaderWhen the user steps over a lot of ammunition, the magazine automatically loads.

It is difficult to aim this rocket launcher. You have to use a strange motion in order to direct the rockets to where you wish them to land. The effort will be worth it as the Catalyst of Wardcliff can tighten up the spread, if you are lucky enough to find it. Wardcliff Coil has the ability to destroy entire groups of enemy in seconds. If you don’t have this gun, pick it up before Xur goes away this week.

THE BOMBARDIERS

The Bombardiers are Year 3 Hunter legs with a silly and mostly useless perk — or rather, it used to be useless. A Parting GiftThis leaves a small bomb that explodes when the Hunter dodges. While this previously didn’t do much, the bomb now changes based on your subclass, burning enemies with Solar, slowing enemies with Stasis, blinding targets with Arc, and suppressing targets with Void. This is a bizarre Exotic that’s potentially useful now, especially if you’re often in close quarters.

AN INSURMOUNTABLE SKULLFORT

An Insurmountable SkullfortStriker Titans has a fantastic PvE and pvp Exotic. It’s Transfusion MatrixThis perk causes your melee kills to immediately trigger the regeneration of health and restore all melee energy. If you’re a Titan player and you don’t have this yet, rectify that.

OPHIDIAN ASPECT

It is important to note that the word “you” means someone. Ophidian AspectGauntlets have been available since the release of Curse Of Osiris. The exotic benefit is Cobra TotemicThis allows weapons to be reloaded and ready faster. The melee distance is extended as a side benefit. These are great “anytime” exotics. No matter what kind of activity you’re doing, you’d be better off wearing these gauntlets than not. You can try them on and decide what you like.

Exotic Cipher quest

Start in Beyond LightXur’s new quest is to get an Exotic Cipher. You can buy Exotics at the Monuments to Lost Light Kiosk in the Tower using the Exotic Cipher. You’ll need these items and some other currencies to pick up Exotics like Heir Apparent and Truth.

This week, Xur is asking you to win the Crucible or Gambit match or complete 21 strikes. By finishing the quest, you’ll earn an Exotic Cipher to use however you want.
