When does Hogwarts Legacy come out? It depends on your platform

A new adventure set in the past of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Warner Bros. and Avalanche Software’s Hogwarts Legacy, will be made available this year for all major platforms such as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. However, unlike other games that are released on multiple platforms at once, this one is not. Hogwarts Legacy’s launch will be staggered over the course of six months.

The confusion is only exacerbated by Hogwarts Legacy’s release date(s) is an early access period tied to the game’s Deluxe Edition. Yes. Hogwarts LegacyIf you are willing to pay premiums, it is advisable that you sign up early.

Hogwarts LegacyIt will OfficiallyLaunched on Feb. 10 with release of Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC versions. It costs $59.99 on the PC or $69.99 on Xbox Series X and PS5. Deluxe Edition Hogwarts Legacy costs $69.99 on PC and $79.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X, and that’s the version that offers 72 hours of early access to the game — meaning players can play it early starting on Feb. 7. The Deluxe Edition includes the Dark Arts Pack, which contains cosmetics and a mount as well as access to the Dark Arts Battle Arena.

This is the place for Potter lovers on Xbox One and PS4 Hogwarts LegacyThese consoles will get the new versions on April 4. The Xbox One and PS4 versions will not be available for early access.

Nintendo Switch’s version Hogwarts LegacyOn July 25, it will be published.

• April 4 — Hogwarts LegacyStandard Edition (PS4, Xbox One), and Deluxe Edition
• July 25 — Hogwarts LegacyStandard Edition (Switch), and Deluxe Edition

What about the Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition?

The extravagant, physical Collector’s Edition of Hogwarts LegacyThe game will also be available on February 7, allowing serious Harry Potter fanatics to get the game before everyone else. You can read more about The Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition can (technically) be pre-ordered for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X for $299.99, and PC for $289.99. There are also PS4 and Xbox One versions of the Collector’s Edition available for $289.99, but like the other previous-gen console versions, they’re not coming until April. (Warner Bros. is not selling a Collector’s Edition for the Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy.)

But that’s kind of a moot point — the Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition appears to be sold out at the retailers stocking it (Amazon and GameStop) anyway.
