When are the Oscars 2023, and a quick guide to the Academy Awards

For the most important Hollywood event of 2018, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences gathers again. The 2023 Oscars will be the 95th celebration of the film world’s most prestigious and time-honored award ceremony, when it takes place on Sunday, March 12, live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

It’s still anyone’s guess as to who will win the night’s Best Picture prize, but we do know how you can catch all of the awards as they happen.

How soon will the Oscars for 2023 start?

The Academy Awards will be held at 8pm ET/5pm PT. The award show will also feature a red carpet pre-show that will begin at 6:30pm ET / 3:30pm PT, and will feature some of the night’s biggest celebrities and personalities arriving and doing interviews before the ceremony. A replay of the ceremony will be available at 8 p.m. PT to those on the west side.

What cable TV channel can you watch to see the Oscars?

ABC will broadcast the 95th Academy Awards live, just as they have done since 1976. This will also continue until at most 2028. Your local ABC broadcast affiliate should be available for free over the air as long as you have a digital receiver — which is probably built into your TV.

How to stream Oscars

You can watch the Oscars via any streaming TV platform that provides local channels such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV and FuboTV. The live stream of the 95th Academy Award broadcast can be viewed on the ABC website if you have a paid-TV subscription or cable package.

The Oscars: What can you expect?

Not a Will Smith appearance, that’s for sure! Exceptions to this rule, anything can happen (all at the same time). Jimmy Kimmel is hosting this year’s 95th Academy Award. It will mark the third consecutive time that the comedian and late-night talkshow host has hosted the Oscars. The Oscars were his first two in 2017 and 2018.

You can also expect a live performance of the Oscar-nominated original song “Naatu Naatu” from S. S. Rajamouli’s breakthrough Indian action drama RRR Rahul Sipligunj & Kaala Bhhairava, the playback singers who sang the song in the movie’s place RRRN. T. Rama Rao Jr. stars and Ram Charan Neat!
