What’s new in Honkai: Star Rail patch 1.2?
Honkai: Star RailLaunched its launch Update to 1.2, and it’s actually a big one. Not only does it feature new story and characters, but there’s new content to farm out, as well as new relics.
It can be overwhelming to log in and see a bunch of red dots on everything, indicating all the new content, so here’s a breakdown of the biggest updates in Honkai: Star Rail’s 1.2 update.
Trailblaze Missions continues the story of Xianzhou Luofu
This patch brings to a close the Trailblaze Missions centered around Xianzhou Luofu, completing our exploration of this historically rich area. There are still questions so there could be more. However, this story add-on does include the final boss fight, just like Cocolia’s in Jarilo-VI. boss fight, just like Cocolia’s in Jarilo-VI.
As you go through the new story quests, you’ll run through two new maps: Alchemy CommissionThe following are some examples of how to get started: Scalegorge Waterscape. Every game has a different set of puzzles and chests that you need to solve.
The bosses have changed
There’s a new Stagnant shadow bossThe new ones (those you need to battle for the character-ascension materials) Echo of War bossThe ones that you will have to battle for the trace ascension materials.
Both are locked behind the story, and Blade uses materials from both of these to level up, so if you pulled Blade from gacha, then you’ll need to complete the story in order to properly level him up.
Blade has been released, and Kafka will follow later
This is what I’m saying BladeIt’s now possible to play the five-star Wind Destruction Character. He consumes his own HP to deal massive damage (and regain some of that HP back), so if that type of playstyle entices you, he’ll be on the gacha banner for about three weeks.
He will rotate out of the Army on August 8. KafkaGacha will bring the Lightning Nihility Stellaron Hunter to the game that everybody has been looking forward to. Alongside her, a new four-star character named Luka will debut. Luka’s Physical Nihility is his name.
Light Cones are tied to the gacha of each character.
Forgotten Hall and Simulated Universe have both new updates
Forgotten Hall has now been reopened New Stages that are themed with the Xianzhou Luofu area and you’ll get a free Yukong for completing at least one of the stages. Nice! It also means there is more Stellar Jade available to collect from each level. You need to beat the Trailblaze Mission “Xianzhou Luofu — A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant” in order to unlock this new section.
Simulated Universe has added a new world, World 7. where you’ll have to fight the dreaded deer boss from the Xianzhou Luofu storyline. You do need to complete the Trailblaze Mission “Xianzhou Luofu — Humming Antlers, Entwined Horns” and World 6 to unlock World 7.
Farming new Planar Ornaments and Relics
Simulated Universe’s new World 7 will award new rewards for completing it. Planar OrnamentsRutilant Arena, Broken Keel.
There’s also a new Cavern of Corrosion to farm two types of new Relics Longevous Disciple and Messenger Crossing Hackerspace. The new cavern is in Alchemy Commission, so you’ll need to be at least that far in the story to run it.
Below you can view the Planar Ornament and Relic effects, according to the game.
Broken Keel

Messenger Traversing Hackerspace
Two-piece set bonuses: Increase SPD by 6%.
Set bonus for 4-pieces: SPD increases for all allies by 12% when the user uses his Ultimate against an ally for one turn. This effect is not stackable.
Seele’s ultimate ability will no longer feel like a flash bang with a new “Eye comfort mode” setting
You can now toggle an “eye comfort mode” in the settings to tone down the flashy effects of certain skills in battle, like Seele’s. This is a long time coming, as many users (myself included) felt like they were personally getting blasted in the face every time they used Seele’s ultimate ability.
In auto-battles, Harmony Buffers now perform better.
So the update notes. The update notes don’t explain how they’ll target specifically, but hopefully they start picking characters with higher attack, or characters with DPS roles.
Now you can test out regular warp characters
Now, regular five-star warp characters, such as Himeko, Welt Clara Bronya Gepard Yanqing and Bailu, can also be used in trials. To access these trials, go to the standard warp banner and tap the “character trial” button at the bottom. These trials will allow you to test your character out and reward you with a variety of items (including Stellar Jade).
