What’s New from Capcom on Xbox? Tokyo Game Show 2023 Roundup Report

Tokyo Game Show 2020 featured Capcom’s eagerly awaited Xbox games. Below is a summary of some highlights.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Swoops in with New Gameplay Details

Dragon’s Dogma 2Hideaki Issuno, the director of the action-RPG that is highly anticipated, shared details about the gameplay. He focused on the combat system and the new dense world in which players will be immersed.

Your choice of vocations will determine your playstyle and that of the AI controlled Pawns. Director Itsuno showed off the four vocations available at the start, along with two other vocations. 

As a fighter, you can protect and kill your friends. This is a melee-focused vocation that uses a shield and sabre to balance both defense and offense. It’s a great all-around vocation and fits well with most party compositions.

As the Archer, you can rain down arrows using a longbow and arrow. It is ideal for taking down enemy above you such as the harpies who roam the sky. You can use arrows that explode or cause damage to your opponents.

As a Thief, you can strike quickly with two daggers. Taking advantage of this vocation’s agility and choosing your openings is key. Stay aware of the enemy’s attack and use the Thief’s Swift Step ability to quickly dash away from enemies after an attack.

A Mage can use powerful healing and attack magick. To gain the upper hand in battle, summon powerful spells or cast enchantments to help your allies. More advanced magick will have longer incantations, so you’ll need to stay safe when casting powerful magick. 

Mystic Spearhand uses the Duospear, a double-edged spear that is combined with magick. Twirl your spear to hit multiple foes and use your magick to throw items or block an enemy’s movement. The new profession is an all-rounder who can be adapted to almost any circumstance.

Magick Archer delivers magick-infused arrows to heal or support allied players and devastate enemies. A powerful, but risky ability allows you to sacrifice some of your health in order to launch a massive attack. No risk, no reward!

Select the party vocations to meet your specific needs, and then defeat all the enemies who await you. You’ll be able to change your vocation at a Vocation Guild, so feel free to experiment! You can expect to see more and unique vocations when the full game is released.

Itsuno introduced the journey that you will take in this new world. In this world, two countries reside: Vermund is the human kingdom, while Battahl is the home of beastren. Vermund has been ruled by Arisen generations and is full of rolling hills, lush meadows. Batthal has rocky canyons, where the new race of beastren calls home.

Instead of walking, why not take an oxcart? Get on and rest for a few minutes to get to your destination as quickly as possible. But you can still be attacked on your journey, so always stay alert!

Another key element of the series returning is Pitch-Black Nights Dragon’s Dogma 2. Some of the most dangerous monsters are only visible at night. To survive, it is important to be prepared and careful when you travel at night. But waiting until morning can also help. Camping kits can be used to relax and get your health back. 

The environment can play an important role in the combat. Breaking a dam and unleashing a torrent of water on your enemy can change the entire encounter. When you face enemies such as the Cyclops, the combination of your party’s vocations could cause them to fall over and create a temporary bridge. In your future adventures, you will encounter many other emergent situations. 

This is only a tiny portion of the fun you’ll have in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and we can’t wait to share more in the future!

The Wargames Evolve in Exoprimal’s Next Update

Exofighters, thank you for joining the Xbox wargames and Windows games! Exoprimal’s dinosaur action continues to evolve with Title Update 2, coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows on October 18!

Ocean Platform, a new wargames map is coming! Full of narrow scaffolding and with an emphasis on verticality, this offshore oil plant will challenge you to use your exosuit’s skills and rigs efficiently to navigate across the map while holding off dinosaur swarms.

Also included in Title Update 2 is Escape, a new final mission where you’ll team up with the opposing squad in an intense ten-player cooperative mission. Work together to secure and defend points on the map as quickly as possible to improve your odds of survival, then make a final rush to escape while fighting off overwhelming hordes of dinosaurs and neosaurs – dinos that have been altered in strange ways on their trip through time – to either escape as a team, or to be flagged for mortal sunset.

Title Update 2 will add two new rigs – suit attachments that can be swapped out at any time during gameplay – to the mix: the Drone rig and the Edge Strike rig. The Drone Rig flies ahead when activated, leaving behind a lasting explosion which blinds dinosaurs in its path. Edge Strike fires blades and then teleports to the location of its weapon before launching a quick attack.

Plus, it’s time to take ExoprimalThe streets are alive! Street Fighter 6Title Update 2 also brings collaboration content for Bikitoa Island. Ryu and Guile as well the recently revealed Chun Li exosuit skins will make their way from the streets into the game. 

Season 2. ExoprimalOn October 18th, the new Survival Pass will be released with a number of exciting new rewards. Don’t miss out on the Season 1 Pass! We’ll also have an upcoming series of holiday events where you can earn special exosuit skins. There’s even more on the way with Title Update 3 in January 2024, which will introduce a collaboration with the Monster Hunter series, so Exofighters should remain on their toes and be ready for future dimensional integration.
