Remnant 2 max trait points, explained
Each trait can only be maxed out after 10 levels, regardless of where it was acquired. You get a bundle of four traits, each with some points. The points are based on the starting archetype. Archetype traits also level up through experience. By defeating enemies and picking up random dark blue items in the game world, you can gain one trait point at a given time.
Things get tricky, however, when you’ve assigned 60 total trait points because, at that point, Remnant 2. cuts you off (the points automatically added to your starting traits and acquired through archetypes don’t count). After you reach the maximum level of an archetype’s trait, that archetype can then be used by any other archetype. However, this also reduces your 60-point cap. As such, there’s a concrete ceiling on how strong and/or unique your build can get through traits alone.
If you decide down the line that you’re not happy with your trait spread or simply want to try a different build, you can always respec. To do so, you’ll need to use an Orb of Undoing, purchased from Wallace (the guy who transforms special materials into archetype engrams) for 3 Lumenite Crystals and 1,500 scrap. The Orb of Undoing will return all your traits and allow you to try the quest again.
