They will fight alongside you, and depending on the build they have, can do a lot of damage. It’s a great stress-reliever for a beginner to be able rely on AI friends all the time. If you mess up your abilities or aren’t sure how to attack and stay alive, you can just focus on keeping yourself safe while your buddies clean out the dungeon.
Necromancers are technically forced to use two types of resources: Essence, and the unique corpse mechanic. It can be a little overwhelming to new players as corpses can complicate skills, and also obscure ground.
BarbariansThe demons are a bunch of big people who try to get rid of Sanctuary. Barbarians has a similar fantasy as well as (some) playstyles. You’re going to spend a lot of time just running up to monsters and punching them in the face until they die. No tricks are involved. You’re not turning yourself invisible or transforming into a bear. You’re taking a big hammer and you’re smashing stuff.
Barbarians have two major drawbacks: on the one hand, they are a weak class and can be easily killed if you don’t know what you are doing. Barbarians are one of the weaker early game classes, and you can die fairly easily when you don’t know what you’re doing. For your suffering, you’ll get to be very powerful in the endgame. Barbarians can only wield 4 weapons, so they’re very strong in the later stages of the game. You’ll need to collect more equipment than the other classes, and combine more powerful Legendary abilities. That’s exciting, but also overwhelming.
What’s so great about Diablo 4 is all the classes — including Druid, Sorcerer, and Rogue — all have simple builds and complex builds. Barbarians and Necromancers are the most popular choices for many players but they may not be your best choice.
