Westworld season 4, Barry, and 2022 releases get HBO Max first looks

December 22nd, 2009: The premiere Resurrections by The Matrix on HBO Max concludes a risky year in which all of WarnerMedia’s major theatrical releases simultaneously hit the streaming platform. The results of the experiment are a great unknown; few of Warner Bros. Pictures’ movies took off at the U.S. box office like they might have as theatrical exclusives, but they likely resulted in a boom of subscribers for the growing HBO Max platform. In 2022 Warner Bros. Pictures will resume normal business, while HBO Max becomes the streaming home. Major releases are now only going to multiplexes. In a new sizzle reel for the 2022 slate, HBO Max hopes that won’t be such a bad thing.

The 2022 HBO-property slate includes, notably the return of Westworld, with season 4 picking back up with Aaron Paul’s petty thief character. The video also confirms a 2022 release for the third season of Bill Hader’s BarryNew seasons and a new look at the show are both available. His Dark Materials And Nevers. The trailer also highlights new footage from January’s Suicide SquadSpinoff PeacemakerThe Zendaya-led EuphoriaThe new Game of Thrones series House of the Dragon, and Adam McKay’s anticipated docudrama Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, starring John C. Reilly.

This reel features footage from the second seasons on HBO Max originals. Most interesting is the ending of the sizzle. It teases several original WB movies coming to the site in 2022. HBO Max is a Netflix-like streaming service that aims to create buzz with budget-friendly films that will fill in for our theatrical blockbusters.
