Welcome to Forza Motorsport: From Forza Horizon to Falling in Love With Cars
From the very first Forza MotorsportForza, launched in 2005 has always been about building community and falling in love. Turn 10 Studios co-founded me and I was privileged to work on the original Forza. Forza MotorsportI have worked with the studio 20 years. In that time, we’ve grown considerably but, through it all, a constant has been our love for cars, pushing the limits of gaming technology, and creating a racing community for everyone. We have less than two week left before the release of our brand new Forza MotorsportOn October 10th, we will be presenting our global vision of the Forza Horizon racing game. We’ll also explain our strategy for new and existing players.
To start, we’ve been asked why we didn’t call this ‘Forza Motorsport 8,’ and it’s a fair question. From the beginning, we’ve designed the latest Forza MotorsportTo be an ever-evolving racing platform with content that enhances the automotive entertainment experience through competition and skill. The last few weeks, we have shared more information about our new and evolving racing platform for Forza.net. It’s due to this shift that we didn’t need a number in the title; we created a platform.

We’re often asked about the difference between both titles within the overall franchise. Where Forza Horizon expresses its vision through freedom and exploration, Forza Motorsport focuses on competition and honing your skills – and both focus on accessibility, authenticity, and immersion in their own way.
As Motorsport’s roots are within racing simulation, we wanted you to be immersed as soon as you start Forza Motorsport. You’ll experience the beautifully rebuilt Maple Valley track in the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, followed immediately by the exciting Hakone circuit in Japan in the 2023 Cadillac V-Series.R. Let’s talk a little bit more about what Forza MotorsportIts core is innovation. We’ve used the period since our last launch to innovate, redevelop, and refocus on the very core of the game. We have completely reinvented the experience of competing, racing, improving skills, upgrading your car and building your track. We wanted to build a competitive, live racing platform which would evolve with the community. It was important that it be interactive, real-time, easy to use, always changing, and connected. We’ve created a more competitive, accurate, and rewarding racing experience thanks to huge, foundational improvements in our physics and AI – more than all previous Motorsports combined. You will immediately feel the differences if you are familiar with Forza.
Launching in 2019, we’ll have over 500 cars and 20 tracks with different layouts from all around the world, 5 tracks that are brand new for Motorsport. And that’s just the start. The cars, tracks and features are all geared towards our bigger vision. It is our hope that over time you will find 10 cars or more that are important to you and they change as you improve your skills. As you improve your abilities and find your niche in the competitive, creative community of our game, we will continue to grow. Our goal is to make you love cars and compete through your skills.
