We’ve been working very hard on this baby, for many years, with a small team of passionate experts in the immersive sim genre. Julien (Executive Producer) and I were avid fans of Ultima 7And Ultima UnderworldWhen we were children, the simulation and immersive values that we had as kids have remained with us and has shaped our drive.

I created Arkane Studios in ‘99. Julien was one of the key members behind Arkane Studios, joining me soon after. Arx Fatalis, Dark MessiahAll the way to Dishonored. Weird WestIt is our first attempt to create a top-down immersive simulator. It’s a genre that hasn’t really been attempted too often since immersive sims are traditionally in first person, but we believe the values translate well to the top-down angle, and it brings that comfortable nostalgic Ultima vibe that takes us back to our childhood.

Because, ultimately, that’s why we do the games we do; we want to give to the new generations what we received as kids: the gift of immersion. Imagine a world in which players can be themselves and emotionally invest their time and energy into the characters and places they visit.
