Watch the first trailer for Pachinko, Apple’s epic family drama

This is the first trailer of the much-anticipated television adaptation PachinkoThis shows the vast scope of multigenerational stories, stretching back to the 1900s and the 1980s.

Based on Min Jin Lee’s critically-acclaimed New York Times Bestseller PachinkoThe story follows the four generations of a Korean family that immigrates to Japan in the early 20th century. This series begins in South Korea with Sunja as the family matriarch. It then moves forward to the United States in 1980 with Solomon, her great-grandson. It is the PachinkoThe story will be told using three languages: Korean and Japanese as well as English.

Starring Yuh-Jung Youn (who won last year’s Best Supporting Actress Oscar for MinariSunja () in her older years with Jin Ha playing Solomon and Minha Kim the younger Sunja. Pachinko The series will premiere on Apple TV Plus March 25th with three episodes and then new episodes every Friday through April 29. Soo Hugh, the showrunner (also the writer), is responsible for this series. The Terror And The Killing). Lee originally served as the executive producer on this project, but has since resigned.
