Video Game Hall of Fame inducts Ocarina of Time, Ms. Pac-Man, and DDR
The World Video Game Hall of Fame inducts some of the most influential video games of all times seven years after their creation.
Thursday was announced by The Strong National Museum of Play Rochester, NY which is home to the Hall of Fame. The Legend of Zelda – Ocarina of Time, Ms. Pac-Man, Sid Meier’s CivilizationAnd Dance Dance Revolution comprise the Hall’s class of 2022.

With Dance Dance RevolutionThe museum was particularly proud of its impact on peripheral-based music gaming. This included the popular phenomenons Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
Find out more Civilization, the museum praised the series as one that highlights creation over destruction — something that still isn’t necessarily common to video games now, and was even less so in 1991.
Finally, The Legend of Zelda – Ocarina of Time’s citation says the 1998 game defined the potential in 3D action games, for generations to come, and spotlighted its influence on many modern developers.
In 2015, the World Video Game Hall of Fame was created to honor exceptional mobile, arcade, console and computer games. The 2023 class will be populated by fans who can nominate their favorite games. Journalists, historians, and others with a history of video gaming will choose the finalist.
