Vaultlander locations in New Tales from the Borderlands

Through Tales from the Borderlands – New Tales, you’ll engage in plastic figurine combat using Vaultlanders, hidden collectibles scattered around Promethea. Vaultlanders may be hard to locate, and it might take you several attempts. A few appear to also be accessible via other means, such as social media engagement.

Continue reading to find out when and where (almost all) the Vaultlanders can be found. However, there may be light spoilers regarding specific plot beats. Over the course of our playthrough, we’ve found most of them (currently 16 of the 18), but will update the guide once we’ve found the remaining two.

Episode 1

• Phoung– Chapter 3. – This chapter was given to Phoung by the Atlas crew during their escape.

• ClaptrapChapter 3: After saving Juniper from Chapter 3, don’t interact with the radio immediately. Instead, locate the Claptrap vaultlander beneath the rubble by the dumpster. For guidance, refer to the above image.
• Amara – Chapter 3 – As you’re showing Reba the damage around Fran’s Frogurt, clear the rubble inside to reveal Amara.

Episode 2

• ZaneChapter 3 – Stop the Badass Superfan lurking in the sewers

Episode 3

• Vasquez – Chapter 2 – As you’re searching for parts to create your healing device, check the fridge to find the Badass Superfan. Vasquez will be given to you if they are defeated.
• RolandChapter 6 – At the Morgue, fight the Badass Superfan hidden in the frige.

Episode 4

• MayaChapter 4: When you play as Anu, place the Vaultlander at the top right corner of the lab.
• Mordecai – Chapter 4 – When playing as Fran in the new Fran’s Frogurt, interact with the cash register to find the Vaultlander.

Gearbox Software/2K Games

• Brick – Chapter 4 – Defeat the Badass Superfan hiding in the car trunk in Fran’s Frogurt.
• Moze – Chapter 4 – As you’re reuniting with L0U13, the Badass Superfan will challenge you to a duel. You will be awarded the Vaultlander if you win.

Episode 5

• Amazing Jack – Chapter 4 – After reuniting Octavio and Fran, interact with the Handsome Jack Vaultlander on the red “X” on the floor. You will be challenged by the Badass Superfan, who will fall from the ceiling to challenge you in a Vaultlander fight. To win the Vaultlander, you must defeat them.

• Krieg– Chapter 4. Octavio and Fran finally locate Anu’s location. You are then confronted with Stapleface who has been dressed up as a Tediore Soldier. You have the option of protecting Anu or tackling her. Stapleface can be tackled, and she’ll give you Krieg as a sign of friendship.

Finale

• Lillith– Completing the game. This could be linked to one of the endings.
