Valheim Coming To Xbox Next Year And PC Game Pass This Fall

Although there was no trailer for the Xbox or Bethesda main showcase, some viewers might have seen a popular survival game in the image at the end of the show. Today it was confirmed that inclusion was very intentional, as Valheim is not only coming to Game Pass on PC this fall but will be coming to consoles and will be exclusive to Xbox when it launches in 2023.

In February last year, the cooperative survival game featuring Norse themes was made available to Steam Early Access. It quickly gained popularity and sold over 3,000,000 copies within its first week of sale. Its inclusion on PC Game Pass within a matter of months, and its inclusion on the Microsoft Store for Windows, is welcome news to those who have never taken the leap on Valheim.

Valheim’s other important news is threefold. First, the game is officially coming to consoles for the first time. It has been rumored since Controller Support was added to the PC Version earlier this year. But it’s great to now have some confirmation. When this port does land on Xbox sometime in the first half of 2023, full cross-play will be enabled to team up with any number of PC and console players. Although, no other consoles will be involved since Microsoft has locked down console exclusivity for Valheim, so don’t expect to see the game show up on PlayStation or Switch anytime soon.

You can buy Valheim Game Pass now from Steam if you don’t want to wait for Valheim joining Game Pass on the Microsoft platform of your choice.
