Original Story, 12/13/21
The multiplayer team behind Halo Infinite said near the start of December that it’s working on adding Fiesta, Tactical Slayer (Swat), and Free-For-All playlists to Halo Infinite before the end of the year. It also said that while it’s working on a Slayer playlist, it won’t be ready until 2022.
343 Industries is making all of your holiday wishes come true this December because it announced that Fiesta, Tactical Slayer, FFA, and Slayer playlists go live tomorrow. Andrew Witts (halo infinite lead multiplayer designer) announced this news. who announced All four new playlists will be available tomorrow (December 14th).
“As I noted last week, the team’s original plans for a Slayer playlist included a variety of new variants that weren’t going to be ready in time to deploy before the holiday break,” 343 Industries wrote in a Reddit post linked by Witts on Twitter. “To address player feedback for Slayer in the near term, we’ll be releasing a basic Slayer offering to start and will look to bolster and expand with more variants in a future update.”
343 Industries appears to be planning a more extensive Slayer playlist. They may refer to Snipers Only and Shotguns and Swords variants. But for now, Slayer sounds just like the classic Slayer. In addition to the announcement of these playlists the studio revealed that certain mode-specific challenges would be modified.
“Next week’s update will also include adjustments to challenges including removing some particularly frustrating mode-specific ones, reducing some requirements for others, making the weekly ultimate challenge less intensive (getting there is tough enough), and adding brand new challenges specific to the new playlists,” the Reddit post reads. “Personally, I’m eager to check out a new challenge category that’s based on accumulating player score (a small initial step towards ‘performance based’ XP).”
Elsewhere in the post, 343 Industries says it’s aware of Big Team Battle-related hiccups currently happening in Halo Infinite. You can find more details in the Reddit complete post.
