Update: Season 1 Of MultiVersus Begins Next Week, Morty Joins The Roster Later

Update, 8/12/22:

MultiVersus has announced that Season 1 of the popular stage fighter’s season will start next Monday, August 15, following a last-week delay. Morty Rick and MortyThe team will add a new player to the roster, namely Jeremy, who had been set to leave Season 1. He’ll join us on August 23rd. The team also announced that Season 1 content and modes will be available throughout the season.

MultiVersus is our latest winner in the fight genre’s prize race. To Adventure TimeTo Game of ThronesPlayer First Games’ inaugural title is a bizarre fusion between legendary franchises. Fans love the playful art style and Super Smash-inspired gameplay. Unfortunately, Morty, Morty, is the rising champion’s first season.Rick & MortyThe release date for the finalized version (which was originally scheduled to be released in December) has been moved back. Uncertain when the final release date will be.  

MultiVersus’ dev team released tweets to thank the players for their patience and continue supporting them, while also announcing unexpected news (see above). The complete statement can be found below.

MultiVersus is a great game. The Open Beta launch is just the start of MultiVersus’ growth. It’s great to see the players enjoy the game. We want to let everyone know that we are delaying the start of Season 1 & the release of Morty to a later date. While we understand that this may disappoint some players, it is our intention to continue delivering exciting new content for all of you. The timing will be announced as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience & enthusiasm and look forward to unveiling Season 1 very soon!”

Season 1 had originally been scheduled to debut on August 9. At the moment, we’re going to have you busy kickin’ Lebron James. John Carson presented MultiVersus and stated that “I entered the alpha testing of MultiVersus without high expectations.” Other than Smash Bros., I was impressed by the games I played. Each character has its own gameplay and mechanics, which makes the cast great.
